Post 12-3 fast and elite shooting start where Buddy was not just allowed but feed Filet Mignon to score, he has been playing out of position and fighting for the scraps of much lower grade meat. So to ask what Kerr sees in Buddy that would allow him to authorize a game winning shot in the most crucial game of the year to a chip, This is particularly noteworthy considering there has been no 3rd or 2nd much less 1st option all year and we all who have played elite ball know that success is 98% Attitude, 2% Mechanics and also success happens when preparation meets opportunity. Preparation comes from perfect repretation and although he surely does not lack the attitude, that shot Dubs failed in preparation with Buddy as the focus. The timing was off, the pass was behind him and slightly low. Buddy was not ready for a bad pass, did not gather his feet, did not pick up the rim fast enough after gathering the ball. The result was an out of pocket sped up shot because it allowed the defender to catch up for real contest. Coach Mike Ditka said, Success is not permenant and failure is not fatal. Let's hope Kerr does not abandon this option for Buddy to run around like Steph and give him the opportunity to take more of these shots. This will save Steph legs for when we need him. This role is why I felt Buddy should have one 6th man of the year this season. Maybe Kerr had the same mindset but they choose deviate from what they brought Buddy in to do. Klay Buckets not Klay elite defence but with no Melton, Moody becomes the next man up yet Kerr had to rely on Buddy energy why Moody ramped up. Will Kerr feed Buddy!
