HERE COMES VI ⚙️💜👊

I DID IT FINALLY, I GOT SOME COOL PHOTOS OF VI!!! 😅👍

I have a very complex love/hate relationship with this costune… Vi was one of my first cosplays! And over the course of 6 FRIGGIN YEARS, I had never truly happy with how it looked and ended up remaking and replacing pieces, some of them more than once 😱 I even gave her a HUGE makeover when I decided to compete and placed 2nd in the first ever League of Legends cosplay competition, 1st place at another competition the following year.

I think maybe I was just so intimidated by my own work… I just never got around to doing an official photoshoot for her. And now that I have, I see these photos and I’m just kinda feel… done? 🤔 IDUNNO IT’S COMPLICATED I SAID!! 🤣

It’s not that I’m not proud of what I made or I don’t like the costume anymore. I’ve worn it more than any other costume I’ve ever made, it’s what got me into cosplay, and it’s even given me opportunities to work with Riot Games directly. I’m super proud of Vi and I’ve been told by many people that it’s THE COSTUME they know me for! It’s just when I look at it I think that I could do better… 🤨

I’ve just learned so much since I’ve made Vi, and because it respesents my growth as a creator, I think it also reminds me of my mistakes 😅 My initial thought was that maybe I should remake Vi… but GOD NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT 😫 Too much work holy hell!! Not only that, but I think just trying to surpass this costume would be bad for my mental health…

So I kind of compromised: I’m going to be making the Arcane version of Vi from the upcoming show!! It’ll kinda scratch that redemption itch that I’m feeling, and I can take the time to really flesh out the gauntlets this time, maybe make the fingies moveable or something!! 😍 (I have also convinced my baybee sister Stumpy to cosplay Jinx with me as well, though honestly I just wanted an excuse to make Fishbones… 😅)

Aiight, apologies for the late night rant!!! In short: I’m proud, but it’s complicated. And I’m making ANOTHER Vi costume because I’m mentally ill and need to prove a point 😤🤣

Oh yeah, I also threw together a casual version based off her look from Arcane too… for fun~ 😋 And the last photo is my FIRST version of Vi! So you can compare for shits and giggles 👍
