Bayonetta Guns WIP!! 🔫💙🦋

Holy hell, what a project this was… 😅 Figured it be fun and simple, but somewhere my brain must have forgotten that I wasn’t making one gun but four, incredibly detailed, IDENTICAL GUNS 😭😭

It’s not the cleanest work I’ve every done, but it is still very impressive and I am proud of myself 🥰👍

Also, the shoe attatchments: I luckily had some metal anchors laying around and figured they’d work perfectly, and thank goodness they did 😅 it’s super simple: I just drilled a hold through the heel of my nice shoes and have a screw threading through to the anchor in the gun. Sweet~

Just in time too, I have a photoshoot this Saturday!! We’re recreating an office-themed artwork of Sakimi-chans of the sexy ladies from SSB’s, I’m HYPED!! 😍 But since I put so much work into these guns, expect a full Bayo cosplay too 🤫

Here’s a step by step explanation for those of you who are wondering how I made them. I know this isn’t how everybody assembles 3D printed props, but I found that it’s what works best for me 👍

1. 3D print with ABS w/ 30% infill (normally I do 20% but I wanted them to be a tad sturdier)

2. Glue pieces together with Loctite 5min expoxy

3. Fill imperfections with super baby (mixture of baby powder and superglue, great for fragile pieces and super easy to sand)

4. Sand with 120 grit sandpaper, refine with bondo, sand again.

5. Spray 3 light layers of rustoleum filler primer 3 times, sanding with 220 grit sandpaper and refining between each time.

6. Wet sand with 600 grit sandpaper.

7. Spray silver spray paint base coat.

8. Apply blue acrylic via airbrush, seal with one layer of satin clear coat.

9. Paint ALL THE GOLD DETAILS BY HAND, CRY 😭😭

10. Clean up, refine, seal with 3 layers of satin clear coat.

11. Glue on small details with super glue.

I have 2 Zortrax M200’s for 3D printing, they’re a bit outdated but they print super clean and they get the job done, can’t complain! For the smaller details like the triggers and hammers I use my Elegoo Mars 2 resin printer, that way they’re super sturdy and I don’t have to worry about sanding print lines on something so tiny.
