I broke the number one painters rule: NEVER apply paint in cold weather. I didnβt check the temperature, I thought it was warm enoughβ¦ and my topcoat cracked π₯²π
The blade was perfect beforehand, super smooth and a shiny silver!! I was hella sad. But I decided to make the most of it (especially since I didnβt have time to start over π ). I went for an old battered blade look instead, like maybe the slaughter demon had not been sharpened or cleaned in a long time. And I actually rubbed more oil paint into the cracks to make it look weathered and gross~
I think it still turned out pretty good!! I hope it at least looks intentional π π

Improvise, Adapt, Overcome!π€ Don't be too hard on yourself. It still looks great. It could have been worse. A little weathered look isn't bad at all. Just shows the blade has seen plenty of action. π As Bob Ross said "We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents" πβ€β€
