HALO Theme feat. Scott Porter | EARLY ACCESS

Let's set the scene... It was 2 decades ago, the X-box was warm, the "ring" pizzas were in the oven (yes this is Totino's with more cheese added), and the members of VoicePlay and a few friends would gather to play this magnificent game... HALO. (If you don't know, HALO is a multiplayer first person shooter game, and yes, at one point in time we even got Geoff to play. This is how big of a phenomenon Halo is/was. )

For those of you who don't know the full history of VoicePlay, Scott Porter was one of the 5 original members back when VoicePlay was actually a boyband. In fact, he was the original mouth drummer, and when he decided to pursue his acting career, that is when Layne decided to give it a try! Scott has since done A LOT, starting with Jason Street in Friday Night Lights, Music and Lyrics, Heart of Dixie, Award Winning - Ginny and Georgia, Lucifer, and so much more (Check out his IMDB)!

Ever since we collaborated on "Just Sing" last year, we have been trying to figure out the perfect song to feature Scott's talents. The HALO theme seemed like the perfect thing.

Just a heads up, you will have access to this video for a few weeks before it's released to the public. The Halo 20 year anniversary is in November, and Scott has a few friends/connections to the gaming industry so he's sent this to them in hopes of having them share or potentially even work together. Let's cross our fingies and toesies!

One more note about Halo--- One of our very good friends Rek Dunn recently passed due to COVID-19. We've ALL known Rek since high school, and both Eli and Scott were extremely close with him. Rek was a creative at heart, and he lived to inspire and connect. You have definitely seen his work in VoicePlay artwork, and he was in a few of our BTS videos and made a brief cameo in our Boy Bands in 5 Minutes video (he was the cheesesteak delivery guy). Rek was one of our friends who would play Halo with us and his passing saddens us deeply. We plan to memorialize him at the end of the public version of this video.
