2019-08-01 16:18:19 +0000 UTCI have seen people claim Einstein was insanely brilliant because he saw then need for the cosmological constant before anyone else. I view it as he made a mistake, which turns out to be right for reasons he did not imagine and was not considering. Which is why I like your end of this video. Einstein WAS brilliant, a super-genius. But the cosmological constant was a mistake. The fact we can use it (kinda-sorta) to fix new observations does not change that. And if anything, that makes Einstein more human in my eyes. Even super geniuses can make BIG mistakes.
