Changes & what to expect after the hiatus..!

Hey guys!

A lot to unpack here, so let's get right into it:

• [ TAXES ] I believe Patreon has introduced taxes as of July. I'll be real with you: I dunno the first thing about taxes : ( but I did my best to make sure that if you're taxed, it's for as little as possible. I've changed the language a bit in my tiers as a result. The $1 tier, [ Believers ], is now more accurately described as a donation pay-what-you-want "tip jar" and everyone in that tier won't be taxed over it. If you have any questions though, please contact Patreon customer support about it. I know jackshit (; - ;

• [ Front Page ] The front page "About" is a lot more concise now. I did mention in my comic updates that BRV will soon go on a hiatus, but I made sure to mention it on the front page as well just in case nobody reads WebToons descriptions ^^;

[ Reason for hiatus ] I am not happy with the pace I'm going at with BRV right now, and I want a timeout to properly rewrite the script so it's something I can realistically finish in my own lifetime : ( The original script was around ~120 episodes. It is now condensed to about ~80 episodes (we are technically at episode 8 with this). It is written start to finish, but it's all just a rough first draft, and I don't want to constantly keep editing stuff as I go. It is doubly hard for me to get this done quick since I'm more of an artist than a writer, and English is still not my first language lol. Writing down a good dialogue is still a bit of a challenge. I've been working on BRV since 2017, it is my first webcomic and I have severely underestimated how much time and work goes into this. I was woefully under-prepared lol OTL

I hope you understand the need for a long break after episode 18. That being said...

• [ BRV Spoiler Content ] You will still continue getting new BRV rewards regardless! Maybe even more so than before. Since It'll be a long hiatus, I'll be sharing more spoiler-y content like major monster concept art, characters in their different forms, canon relationships and so on. It will never be about any major plot points! Obviously not everyone wanna get spoiled (unless...?) so I've been contemplating whether to separate them on a new tier or keep it all in tier $6 still? I personally would rather have as few tiers as possible, and you can ignore any posts tagged "BRV Spoilers" or something like that. If you have a better idea, leave me a suggestion please.

• [ FANART ] You might have noticed I already added fanarts into the mix! Right now, there is only a single post for BEASTARS in the $6 tier, alongside the other BRV stuff. But expect more of it going forward : ) I'll try to introduce stuff that I think BRV supporters will enjoy as well, so I hope you'll enjoy fanarts just the same as BRV content.
