March is my birthday month so I wanted to be a bit self indulgent with this sticker sheet! I decided on a theme of buttercream colors, roses, and cute lingerie.
It's been an unpredictable month that's been causing a lot of anxiety what with the current state of things and being let go from my part time job. In other words, the perfect time to just eat sweets and cry. Same with my ideas, all I want to draw is cute girls and butts and that's okay! We're allowed to be upset and to indulge ourselves.
This time around, I want to share more of my behind-the-scenes and sketches! This is just a little more in-depth look into my process.
My (usual) step-by-step:
1. Create a (very) rough sketch with a vague color palette.
2. A clean second sketch. Here is where I try to get my anatomy, small details, and placement exactly as I want to. I don't work well with messy sketches so this is where I spend most of my time.
3. Line art! I love making line art. It's so soothing since all I do is trace.
4. Flat colors. I take my vague color palette and start messing with it.
5. Shading. I'm still developing my shading "style" so I tend to take some time on this stage. I tend to go back and forth on how I want to shade and with what colors. With stickers I feel like I have to be a bit more minimal with the way I shade since they're going to end up being small and the details will not show up as well.
6. Extra little embellishments. My second favorite part! I tend to go overboard with stray hairs so I always end up erasing most of it.
and THEN that's it! (sort-of) After this step I would have to import it into Photoshop, mess with saturation/overlays, then import it into Silhouette Studio where I create a kisscut/die-cut sticker outline. Then I print some samples and go back and forth between Silhouette and Photoshop/Procreate a couple of times till I'm happy!
