Yearly Look-Back: 2020-2023 Pixel Art
Added 2023-03-22 04:46:34 +0000 UTCI was taking a look back over my pixel art over the past few years, and I wanted to hear what y'all thought about it! Some things of note from myself:
- 2020-2021 used a 32x32 canvas, while 2022-onward use a 40x40 canvas.
- 2020's sprite was actually an edit of Chloe's old design! She used to have a little hair tuft, and that hair tuft is why Chloe has that little hair 'swoosh' for a while.
- I modified 2022's sprite a few times during the first half of the year for different expressions, but it started out with a kinda-sorta frown.
- 2023's sprite uses entirely different shades for color shading, and pushes the focus on the eyes down to two pixels (which didn't give a lot of room to put in her yellow eyes, but that's less a bug and more of a feature here).
I'd do this for my sketches, but I only started drawing digitally last year, and to put a long story short: my last notebook got ruined in some rain, despite being inside a bag. I'll definitely be keeping better track from here on out, since most of my sketches go on my phone these days.
