The Oconners

Having sorted things out with Maya and Hollie, Seth felt a lot more reassured and walked out of the Cantory Manor. It was already close to evening, and the streets were flooded with people walking back to their homes.

‘Are The Oconners home yet?’ he figured Lisa’s family should be next. He first went to the Ashleys since he knew the general personally, otherwise The Oconnors would have been his first choice, knowing they would be a real trouble to deal with.

<Affirmative. The family head and his wife are both at home. Lisa is at the academy.>

‘What are the chances they would move to the south if I ask them now?’

<Less than 10%.>

Seth sighed and headed for the academy as quickly as possible. There, he made his way to Lisa’s room inside the student dormitory. Walking up to her door, he knocked gently on it.

A rustling sound came from inside before the door opened and Lisa appeared in front of him. She was only wearing her panties and a bra, with one strap hanging loosely down her arm.

Seth had already seen every girl in his class naked, but he still lifted one eyebrow as he looked at her. 

Lisa didn’t expect to see Seth at her door just as she arrived home from class and was about to close the door in his face when Seth caught it.

“I have something to speak to you about. Can I come in?”

Lisa’s expression turned panicky as she looked back for a moment and said: “Can you wait for a minute?”

Seth sighed and nodded. The door quickly snapped shut in his face and the rustling sound from inside returned.

‘Show me what she’s doing.’

An image appeared in Seth’s sight, and he could see Lisa rushing to clean her room. There were clothes and underwear thrown everywhere, books laying open on the ground, and even some food leftovers here and there.

He could see her teleporting everything in her closet, under her bed, or in other places where she could hide them before using water energy to clean up the floor and everything.

It took over ten minutes before the room looked somewhat decent. Lisa quickly opened the window to bring some fresh air in and walked to the door.

When she opened the door again, her bra was hanging even lower, exposing over half of her nipple. Her face was completely red from running around and cleaning stuff, her hair was slightly wet from the sweat and there was more sweat trailing down her voluptuous body.

Seth had to admit that, even having seen her completely naked in class, she looked quite attractive right now. Shaking his head briefly to remove these thoughts from his head, he stepped by her and said: “Your nipple is showing.”

Lisa looked down and lifted her bra with a small blush before closing the door. Looking at Seth that had sat down on her bed, she asked: “Why is teacher here?”

“Sit down. I have something I need to speak to you about.”

Lisa nodded and sat down on a small chair by the table, waiting for Seth to continue. Seth smiled as he noticed she wasn’t acting that bashful anymore and started telling her about his plans.

Lisa listened to the entire story without saying a single word back, but Seth could see she was quite surprised and, at the same time, conflicted.

Clinging to the edge of the chair underneath her, she looked into Seth’s eyes and asked: “Do you want us to come as well?”

Seth nodded and said: “That’s what I’m hoping for, but I know it would not be easy, so I was hoping to speak to you first. But don’t worry. I won’t pressure you or anything if you don’t want to.”

Lisa lowered her head, letting her wine-colored hair hide her face and breaking eye contact with Seth as she said: “I want to come with teacher and the others, but my parents won’t agree. Can’t teacher just stay here with us?”

Seth sighed and stood up before walking up to Lisa. Bending down, he lifted her head and wiped the tears that were forming at the edge of her eyes before saying: “That’s why I came here, so we can come up with a way to convince your parents to leave with us.”

Lisa’s eyes turned even more red as she heard the kind tone in Seth’s voice as she bit her lips and remained silent. Seth sighed again and sat up straight while pulling the girl into a tight hug.

Lisa immediately started crying in his arms, and Seth just consoled her by massaging her back in silence. It took a long time before Lisa finally calmed down enough to speak.

Pulling back from Seth’s arms, she looked at the wet stain on his blouse and whispered: “I’m sorry.”

“It’s fine. Are you feeling better now?”

Seeing her nod, Seth moved to sit back down on the bed and Lisa joined him as well. Once they were both seated again, Seth asked: “So, do you know of a way we can convince your parents to leave the kingdom?”

Lisa thought silently for a while before shaking her head: “Everyone in the family listens to my father, but he is very loyal to the kingdom. He doesn’t necessarily agree with the king and the royal family, but he won’t abandon Oath, especially not for the Blood kingdom.”

Seth sighed since the system had given him a similar analysis. Looking at the dejected Lisa by his side, he asked: “Do you mind if I get a little rough with him?”

Lisa looked up in surprise, wondering if she heard wrong: “Does teacher want to beat my father up?”

“Haha, not really. I want to convince them, but if that doesn’t work, I guess threatening them is always an option.”

Lisa heaved a sigh of relief and said: “I don’t want you to threaten them. Let’s try to convince them together. Maybe father will listen if both of us try to speak to him.”

Seth nodded and quickly created a set of clothes for Lisa. It was quite a thin dress, considering it was winter, but it complimented her hair perfectly. It started black at the top and arrived at the same color as her hair once it reached her ankles.

Lisa looked at the dress Seth had handed her and asked: “What is this for?”

“Do you want to see your parents in your underwear?” asked Seth with a chuckle.

Lisa looked down and nodded, not thinking too deeply about it before wearing the dress. Seth created a set of clothes for himself that would match hers before extending a hand toward her. The dress hugged her body perfectly and had an opening at her neck, exposing her above-average cleavage.

Lisa lifted an eyebrow once more, feeling there was something more to this situation, but still took Seth’s hand as well. Seth quickly opened a portal all the way from the dormitory to an area close to the Oconnor residence.

Once they stepped out of the portal, Lisa looked all around before turning toward Seth. 

“Did you speak with my parents? They don’t like unannounced visits.”

“It will be fine.” Replied Seth as he led her by her arm and walked towards the entrance of the Oconnor residence. He also extended his destruction energy to clear a path for them to walk on through the snow.

It was quite late into the evening and the two looked like a perfect couple under the light of the street lamps. The two guards in front of the Oconnor residence were quite surprised to notice two people approaching their door so late but were even more amazed to notice the young lady of the family was one of them.

They both bowed as low as possible before saying at the same time: “Miss ascended Lisa. Welcome home.”

Lisa nodded towards them before turning to look at Seth next to her, wishing to know what he had planned. Seth just smiled before winking at her, saying nothing.

Sighing, Lisa looked at the two bowing guards and said: “You can stand up. Are my parents in?”

“Responding to miss, the lord and lady are having dinner inside the main hall. Does Miss want one of us to report or will Miss head right in?”

Lisa opened her mouth to speak when she heard Seth whisper in her ear: “Announce them first.”

Her cheeks reddened at the sudden warm breath grazing her ear as she said: “Let them know I and Ascended Seth have something urgent to speak to them.”

The guards were surprised as they looked at the young man sitting next to their miss. They didn’t recognize him at first, but now that they knew his identity, they bowed again: “Ascended Seth, please forgive our rudeness.”

“No problem. I’m here as a guest tonight.” Seth could already notice the difference in their behavior, compared to the guards at Maya’s residence.

The guard stood back up and one of them said: “I’ll go inform the lord and the lady. Please follow me to wait inside.”

The guard led Lisa and Seth inside before continuing towards the main hall to inform Lisa’s parents.

As Lisa was sitting down on a simple chair next to Seth, she asked: “What does teacher want to do?”

“You’ll see.”

They waited for about five minutes until a 40-something sturdy man walked in along with the guard. The man laughed loudly and walked toward Seth and Lisa.

“Haha, ascended Seth, I apologize for never visiting you back at the academy.”

His face exposed a great deal of friendliness and joy, but Seth could feel some negative energy coming from him. There was also a trace of annoyance in his aura.

Not minding it too much, Seth sat up and nodded. “Earl Oconnor. I also need to apologize for bothering the Earl so late in the evening.”

“Haha, no bother, no bother. Will ascended Seth join us for dinner?” asked the Earl right away.

Seth nodded, and earl Oconnor led him and Lisa to the main hall. There were many people, both old and young, sitting around a large dining table. The atmosphere was a little tense, but they still had smiles n their faces as they all stood up and bowed toward Seth. The servants of the family also knelt down by the sides of the hall.

Seth smiled and said: “No need for formalities. Everyone, please be at ease.”

After everyone sat back down, the family head freed two chairs for Seth and Lisa not that far from him and everyone happily chatted while having dinner. They were all quite polite, asking some perfunctory questions here and there to keep the conversation going before resuming their eating.

Lisa also chatted happily with her family, but inside she was quite worried about what Seth had planned. The dinner went on for over an hour until other family members started excusing themselves.

Not long after, there was only Seth, Lisa, and Lisa’s parents left inside the room. Lisa’s father smiled at the two and asked: “I hope the food was to your liking, ascended Seth.”

Seth nodded and replied: “It was great. Thank you.”

The earl nodded back and the smile slowly faded from his face as he asked: “So, if I may ask, what does Ascended Seth want to speak to us about?”

Seth’s face also turned serious as he asked: “I was wondering, what opinion does Earl Saif think of this kingdom?”. That was the earl’s name, Earl Saif Oconnor, and his wife was Julie Oconnor.

Saif frowned and looked at his wife before saying: “Dear, would you mind taking Lisa out so I can speak alone with Ascended Seth?”

Julie nodded and came to Lisa’s side. Lisa looked at Seth, wondering if he needed her there, but after seeing him nod, she walked with her mother outside.

Now there were only Seth and Saif left inside the main hall.

“Does Ascended Seth have plans on the crown?” he asked directly, his face apparently indifferent.

Seth smiled and shook his head. “Not yet. Taking the crown would be troublesome with Iris around, but I was wondering what made the earl think of that?”

Saif snorted and said: “Do you think after that audience where you threatened the king and my daughter’s secretive behavior whenever it came to your class, I won’t suspect anything? Let me be frank. Even with your status as an ascended, you won’t be able to do a thing against the royal family as long as you can’t defeat Iris. If you hope to rope my family in this already doomed-to-fail attempt of a coup, you severely underestimate our intelligence.”

Seth chuckled and shook his head. “If I wanted a forced takeover, the kingdom would have already been mine, with or without your help, but that’s not what I’m after.”

“Then what do you want?” asked Saif with a raised eyebrow, not taking Seth’s boastful words to heart.

“There have been some complications with Iris and I had to abandon my plan of taking over Oath for now. I plan on conquering another kingdom and raised to power there before extending my influence into Oath as well. In fact, I plan on taking over the Blood Kingdom.”

Saif fell silent and thought about Seth’s words before smiling mockingly at him. 

“Iris scared you so badly that you’re now running like a dog with your tail between your legs down to that dump of a kingdom. You also want to take my daughter with you, but you know she won’t leave us here, so you came to convince me to join you as well? Haha, I thought your ambition was not bad, the royals had long been too pathetic to rule this kingdom, but it appears you are not that different. Do whatever you want, but my daughter stays here.”

Seth’s eyebrow twitched at the old man’s words and he said: “You’re lucky that I don’t want Lisa to get hurt, or I would have killed you only for those words you just said, kid.”

Saif snorted and didn’t take Seth’s threat seriously as he said: “Leave my house right now. My daughter also may no longer join your classes. Get yourself killed if you wish, but don’t drag my family with you.”

Seth sat up and turned around to leave. After taking a few steps, he stopped and said: “It looks like I really did severely overestimate your intelligence. Why do you think I’m still walking around, speaking openly about a rebellion instead of hiding in a deep hole like Necros does?”

“I am not the one scared, but Iris is. She knows she can’t stop me if I want to kill the royals and take over, but I also have to take into consideration the second princess, who I have as a student, and a promise I made to someone I care about. That’s why all the trouble of heading south instead of killing the royals.”

“I will forget your words today, but you better talk to Lisa as well and think carefully about your choice.” He then created a small letter on the table using creating energy and said: “Give this to Lisa after I’m gone. Good evening, earl Oconnor.”

Once his words ended, Seth disappeared out of the main hall, teleporting all the way to the academy.
