Enchantment Mods & Tiers

I have been toying around with enchantments for the game recently, and I am now at a point in the game's development that I can tell a little about how powerful enchantments will be, and how they influence your character's stats and abilities.

From the above image you can see how modifiers are grouped. Some of this you may be familiar with from the game, as the tooltip for strength tells you that it is a measurement of your physical constitution and grants body health and actions, and likewise for the other base stats.

Enchantments will be introduced to the game together with items that will grant a random enchantment, or reroll or upgrade an existing enchantment on one piece of equipment. The enchantment course will allow you to learn enchantment recipes found throughout the campus. These recipes will allow you to use certain spell materials that are more convinient to acquire, in order to enchant a piece of equipment with a random modifier, or a modifier within a group for which you have the recipe.

Underneath is a tier list of how powerful a modifier is relative to tier and other modifiers. All enchantments will only have one modifier, and an item can only have one enchantment at this time. In the future enchantments are likely to grant two modifiers from the respective tier, making them twice as powerful. But for now they are kept weaker to avoid player stomping until proper measurements against it has been implemented.

At the time of release, players will have access to 5 item slots, which means a player with full tier 3 enchantments will have stat modifiers equal to 7.5 Strength. Later, when players will have access to accessories and headwear, this will increase to 12 Strength. With the planned more powerful enchantments, players will eventually be able to gain stat modifiers equal to 24 Strength in total from equipment alone!
