Pitches wanted (nature, technology, ecology) | $1 to $2 per word
Added 2025-11-21 17:14:48 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: MIT TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Deadline: 5 December 2025
Rachel Courtland, Commissioning Editor at MIT Technology Review, is looking for pitches:
MIT Technology Review is seeking pitches for an upcoming print issue. The theme is Nature.
We're looking for pitches for longer pieces: narrative features, compelling investigations, essential profiles, and super-sharp essays, all with a technology angle. This call for pitches is aimed at journalists, but if you're an expert with a strong idea, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Please note we cast a wide net with these themes. With Nature, we're not only looking for stories about ecology and ecosystems, flora and fauna, but about a range of topics related to the natural world and/or the nature of our world. That could include, for example, a physics story. Or something involving human nature.
The pitch deadline is Friday December 5. If you haven't seen it yet, please review our pitch guide (https://www.technologyreview.com/how-to-pitch-mit-technology-review/). It includes general pitching advice, word rates, my e-mail address, and other helpful details.
