Poll: Which version of FoundryVTT are you using?

Hello everyone!

I've been testing v10 of FVTT and I can see that there are some major changes on the way the Scenes/Map are saved in the module I create each month.

In simple words, this means that if I create my monthly modules on v10, they are going to be incompatible with v9. For now I am creating my modules using Foundry v9 in order to keep my maps compatible with v9 & v10.

I am reaching to you, so I can see how many of you still use v9 of FVTT. I will need soon to switch to v10 in order to keep my modules up-to-date with the latest version of Foundry.

If the amount of people that use v9 is still significant then I will wait for some more time until I switch to v10.

Thanks!

I just use whatever version is in the most stable branch, so if 10 is on stable already then that's the one I'm going to be using the next time I launch it. It's been a while since I opened it though.

Nevermind, after the System Update all Migration Errors aee gone and everything seems to work properly. Thanks for the good work btw

The problem is not the module.json file. Actually the module.json that I created is compatible with both v9 & v10. The problem is that if I create the maps in v10 then they are incompatible with v9 because of changes in MultiLevel Tokens module and changes on v10 itself. That's why I need to continue create my modules on v9 as it is the only way to keep them compatible with both v9 & v10. About error messages. I'll try to minimize those. I am aware that all my modules works fine for v10, except module #18 that was generating some errors during the migration of v0.9.0 CoC7 (unofficial) module. If that was your problem, then try updating CoC7 module to latest version as the team has released an update that fixes the migratio problem. If the problem you are facing is not related to CoC7 module then you can message me on patreon (or discord) and you may help me solve that problem. Thanks for your feedback!

Could you consider doing both? I'm getting loads of error-messages with the V9 Files in V10, it shoult be realativly simple to write a JSON-Converter to generate Packages for 9 an 10 to streamline your Workflow.

I don't use Foundry. I'm still using archaic old static maps on Roll20. :-D

Running V10 and discontinued playing any game that was v9 that wouldn't work.

Im Running both, as I yet need v9 for savage worlds. but Cthulhu is already on use at v10, as I got no problems with the system here and the journal functionality for my adventure notes is so much better now.

Still running on v9 until at least most of my Modules (and systems) are fully compatible...

There are some weird problems between module #18 and the latest version of CoC system (0.9.0). It seems like something is off on the migration CoC is doing on my module. As CoC module completely dropped support for v9 I just think I will inevitably need to start creating my module on v10. There is also an issue with Multilevel Tokens module that changed the way the areas are saved, which make them incompatible for v9. Right now there is backward compatibility, but this will be dropped at some point soon. Yeah, it seems like I will need to create the maps on v9 for a while.

I'm running both. Forge allows me to run both, and I would have switched fully to v10, however Sandbox, which I use for a modern game, and where I need your maps the most, is not updated, and might never be updated.

Right now I’m running Pathfinder 2e on v9 because it’s v10 compatible but with bugs and I’ve got a few modules that aren’t updated yet, but I don’t think it will be long before most are up to v10

I'd say keep designing for v9 since they seem to work fine (so far) in v10.
