FoundryVTT mega-modules & asset module
Added 2023-04-05 06:59:48 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
I wanted to let you know about some exciting changes that I've made to my Patreon page. As you know, I publish all of my maps as FoundryVTT modules, and I've been doing this for the last two years. However, I recently decided to make some changes to the way that I deliver my maps to you.
About the new mega-modules
Instead of providing multiple modules each month, I have consolidated all of my maps into two mega-modules: "Cthulhu Architect Maps - Great Cthulhu Tier" and "Cthulhu Architect Maps - Nyarlathotep Tier".
"Cthulhu Architect Maps - Great Cthulhu Tier" module includes the basic variations of my maps, while the "Cthulhu Architect Maps - Nyarlathotep Tier" module includes all of the variations of my maps.
I believe that these changes will make it much easier for you to browse my collection of maps, and I hope that you will find this new system to be more user-friendly. With the new mega-modules, you'll have access to all of my maps in one convenient location, and you won't have to worry about downloading and installing multiple modules each month.
In total, my new mega-modules contain all of the maps that I've created over the last two years. This is a total of 24 modules that have now been consolidated into two. I'm really excited about this change, and I hope that you are too.
The existing 24 modules will be available for limited time until I make sure the new mega-modules are working as expected for all patrons. I will probably delete the existing 01-24 modules by the end of April.
IMPORTANT: All existing Great Cthulhu - Tier 3 patrons that were subscribed before 1st of April are moved into a Great Cthulhu (Legacy) Tier that has access to Nyarlathotep Tier mega-module. You supported me for all this time and this is a way to thank you for all of your support!
The size of these new modules are:
Great Cthulhu Tier - 700MB
Nyarlathotep Tier - 1.3GB
Of course the size will increase slowly through time as I add more maps on each module.
About the new mega-module for Tier 5 patrons
I am in the process of creating a special mega-module "Cthulhu Architect Maps - Azathoth Tier" that is going to include empty variations of many of my maps. This way you can completely customize some of my maps to suit your needs. I need your help on that. I will need to edit my existing maps and remove many objects from them to make them "empty". I would appreciate it if you add a comment on this post making your requests about which maps you would like to see first in that module. This is a time consuming process so I expect to add at least 10 empty variations of my maps each month.
Another thing to consider is, what is empty? I was thinking of providing my maps without any furniture and/or with furniture but without extra objects on them. What are your thoughts about this? It would really help me to hear what you think about this on the comment section.
About bugs on the new mega-modules
During March I spent endless hours moving around the scenes into the new mega-modules. I had to change paths on every scene and on every tile (overhead usually) in order to point into the new module locations. This means that there is a chance I missed a tile path resulting in a broken image in the scene.
Please, if you find any bug on the existing scenes and if you see a missing tile or something that looks off, don't hesitate to contact me and I will fix those broken tiles as soon as I can.
About the new FoundryVTT Asset Module
All Nyarlathotep Tier 4+ patrons will now have access to the new "Cthulhu Architect Assets" module. This module currently includes more than 3000 assets and more are going to be added constantly. This way you will be able to drag & drop my assets in your scenes in FoundryVTT and customize my maps. Below you can see some screenshots & instructions of how you can do that.
1. Select the Tiles Layer
2. Click the Folder icon to open the file browser
3. Navigate to the module path (/modules/cthulhu-architect-assets/assets/)
4. Navigate to a folder that includes an asset you want to use in your scene
5. Set the Asset Grid Size to 256
6. Drag & drop the asset in your scene

The size of the Cthulhu Architect Assets module is 191MB right now and it will increase as I am adding more assets.
I hope that these new changes are exciting for you as they are to me. I believe it is now easier to use my maps & assets for your games.
I want to thank you for your continued support on Patreon. It means the world to me that you find my maps valuable and enjoyable to use in your games. If you have any questions or comments about these changes, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

2023-04-05 12:15:14 +0000 UTCI haven't yet uploaded the assets on Moulinette but I plan to do so the next days. These assets will be available for Nyarlathotep Tier 4 patrons. I want to keep the approach simple and just give all assets to Tier 4 patrons. Of course Tier 3 patrons get some bonuses every now and then e.g. vehicles foundry modules and more.

2023-04-05 11:39:38 +0000 UTCNo problem, I still like the One-Module-to-Rule-them-All approach :). As a corollary question, are the assets also available through Moulinette to people subscribing to both Moulinette and your Patron? If so, at which Tier for your Patreon?

2023-04-05 11:37:28 +0000 UTCI am also copy pasting the response I got from the foundry team regarding Forge. In terms of the Forge: Forge subscribers have at minimum 5GB of asset storage and up to 20GB. The Forge doesn't count premium content sold through their bazaar against storage but content sold through ours does count against that limit. As a result, it could take up a significant chunk of their storage.

2023-04-05 10:58:12 +0000 UTCYou are right I will update the post with more details - The storage size is around 600-700mb for Great Cthulhu Tier module and 1.3GB for the Nyarlathotep Tier module. - The assets were always available for Nyarlathotep Tier (Tier 4+), so the foundry module for assets is available to the same tier as well (Nyarlathotep).

2023-04-05 10:55:21 +0000 UTCI love this mega-module initiative but have a couple questions: - Could you please indicate the storage size of each mega-module as well as the asset module. That could be useful for people hosting their games on the web (Forge or others) ? - You mentioned the asset mega-module was for Tier 4+ patrons: Is that Nyarlathotep and up ? Thanks!
