The truth behind Cthulhu Architect (some good news and some bad news)

Hello there!

It is time to share with you the story behind "Cthulhu Architect" and the people supporting this endeavour.

Cthulhu Architect is a persona that we created along with my wife during the tough times of Covid-19. We are a couple from Greece, I am a computer engineer and my wife is an architect. All the maps and assets that we all enjoy using in our games are designed by my lovely wife. She spends endless hours each month to design everything and I spend a lot of time preparing everything in foundry & Patreon so you can enjoy the result.

Here comes some good news and some bad news (maybe not entirely bad, more like neutral :)

My wife was pregnant and we were expecting our daughter to be born this June. Our little baby girl decided to make her appearance much earlier (17th of April) than anticipated, which was really sudden and unfortunately messes with my wife's time schedules and plans! Our baby was born on the 7th month of pregnancy and she needs intensive care, that's why she is in the hospital and we need to visit her very often. This leaves us with little time to work on the content we provide through our Patreon page.

We couldn't be happier to welcome our daughter into our lives, but unfortunately we will have to pause Cthulhu Architect's Patreon account for a couple of months, as we are not sure how this will work for us right now, and we don't want to disappoint anyone by making promises that we cannot keep!

We both love Cthulhu Architect, and enjoy this little RPG community that we have created and feel grateful for each one of you!

We would love it if you could hang with us for free for the next couple of months, because we do plan to keep Cthulhu Architect with us, after the pause! He is indeed our first child, so he is not going anywhere, just resting for a bit!

What's the plan and the future steps

We will pause billing after this post is published. This means that you will not be billed for the next months, until we are ready to resume our Patreon page.

Cthulhu Architect will still produce some maps during the downtime and we may post some of them, but we cannot promise how many and when they will be ready. "Castle Wewelsburg" may be the next map that will get published when it is ready. So, stay subscribed to receive some free content the coming months.

We are already in contact with some talented designers and we will focus on the development of the Handout Generator. The plan is to upgrade handout generator so it supports user accounts, you will then able to save handouts for future use and share them with your friends. We will also add a lot of new handouts for all of us to enjoy. We would love to have you with us to give us your feedback and share your ideas about the new version of Handout Generator. Don't forget that all patrons will still have full access to the Handout Generator as long as they stay subscribed to our Patreon page.

We also have plans to start working on some scenarios and a setting book, taking place in Sunnyvale, CA during the 80s. There is already a big part of this book ready and we want to share a prototype sometime soon to get some feedback from all of you.

During this downtime we will also focus on the "Tier 5 - Azathoth" foundry module and start adding some "empty variations" of our maps, so you can build a custom variation of our maps using our Foundry Module Asset Pack.

Of course we will still support our existing modules, so feel free to send us some feedback so we can fix potential issues on them.

We really hope that everything is going to be fine with our daughter and that we will return back stronger the soonest possible! We want to use this time, to self-reflect and organise our existing work and then keep a fresh perspective on our future content.
