Hey everyone! Another Halloween with Mercy, or... a version of her.
It's always tough to figure out what I want to do for Halloween. I knew I wanted to do something dark-ish. Mercy has a cool in-game demon skin, but I thought I'd do a more "wild" version of it. This render turned out surprisingly pretty in my opinion. Not only Mercy's look worked pretty well, but the environment also turned out awesome.
About the animation... remember when I told you how I constantly give up on ideas? Well, it happened again. To be fair, I started animating last week's preview, and while it was going well, I realized it would work better on a longer and more complex scene. Since I'm trying to do simpler and more frequent releases, I decided to try another pose. As you can see, I already have a new idea in the works. I really wanted to do something that focused on jiggle physics, and I think I managed to capture that (even too well) with this one. My only issue with this angle is that Mercy's face is not on view, but I plan to make the camera look around and up; maybe even doing some POV kissing.
I'll try my hand with fluid simulation again for this scene. I wanted to do some messy stuff, and fluid sims are undoubtedly the best option for that. I'll also add some variation to the jiggle so it's not the same thing over and over.
I thought about doing a short intro story for this scene, but doing it without voice acting is quite tricky. Considering my last animation got virtually zero new members, I can't really afford that kind of investment again any time soon. Maybe I'll think of something visual. I'll keep you updated.
