This Stuff Truly Happens! Ep.3

Yesterday night during the stream we were talking about the pinkish secondary light I'm using in the lower parts of my jaguar man and today I stumbled on a couple of examples where basically the same tonal light naturally appeared/is used as bouncing light!
- It's a cloudy, rainy day, but even with the low power of that dim light, the bounce between the red car and my arm makes everything fluo pink with a thin, colder and darker terminator separating the two sources.
- In the illustration on the back of the box of Battlecat (btw, if you were wondering where my colors come from... lol, you can't escape your childhood!) a similar pink is used on the left sides to simulate the mix of the white yellowish light from the back fusing with the violet purple tones of the night. It's a realistic consequence of two unrealistic (or better, cinematic) tones, but that bit of realism grounds the fantasy scene in the realm of the believable ;)

Marco thanks for sharing this. I have been going over James Gurney's book Colour and Light for the past few days. I can clearly see the examples you have given above now. Neat, now I guess it is time to start adding bounce lights to my paintings :p ''nervous laughter''.

I can now hear Marco's voice in my head when I read something he has written. ''Level up!''
