"The Firsthand Exclusive - 5"
Added 2022-04-25 02:14:48 +0000 UTCA few hours later, after I devise my plan for getting the exclusive on possibly the biggest story of my career, I call one of the best AV engineers at our station, Reagan Jensen. Reagan is by far the most underrated engineer we have, in my opinion, and she and I have always had a bit of a bond after I had stood up for her when Gail had berated her for a mistake that was ultimately Gailβs fault in the first place. But thatβs neither here nor there. When I break news of my plan to Reagan over the phone, she informs me that she is already somewhat familiar with the story and that she is completely on board. βI knew I could count on you!β I say to Reagan with a bit of excitement in my voice. Meanwhile, my TV in the background is tuned to Channel 6 while Gail reports her story about Mimi the Giraffe and the birth of her baby calf. I like to watch the daily broadcasts to see how everything turns out, considering I am one of the employees and I often get to write some of the dialogue for the anchors. I inform Reagan that I will be calling in sick for work tomorrow and that she should do the same. That way, no one at the station will think twice about where I and Reagan have run off to. Reagan agrees and we bid each other a good night before ending our call.
