I already commented that under another comment, but I don't agree with calling Jamie a victim. Some people are born with low empathy, it's a neurological thing, not a psychological one. Tons of boys are brainwashed by the "manosphere" and it's toxic and dangerous but generally doesn't lead to muder. It's more likely Jamie was problematic from the start, to me it's what comes through his behaviour in this episode.

He was maybe brainwashed by the likes of Andrew Tate, but honestly I don't know that all the blame can be put there 100% (Tate is trash and toxic, don't get me wrong). It's estimated that 4% of people are sociopaths. There is a chance Jamie was born with low empathy, and you can't really change that stuff, it has to do with neurology. That would explain to me why he went as far and at such a young age. Tons of other boys hear misogynistic stuff online, it's a big problem, but it doesn't normally lead to murder.

No he is just being manipulative when he puts on the shy young boy act. Jaime knows exactly what he is doing

Ok, so I got something from this episode that I see nobody seems to have noticed, and I don’t know if it’s just me overthinking. From this episode I got the feeling that Jaime has dissociative identity disorder, like 2 personalities, you can clearly see 2 different Jaimies. One really shy and scared, he doesn’t remember some things he said previously to the psychologist, and that HATES pickles… then is the aggressive, dominant Jaime, the one who curse and tries to scared her and that bite the sandwich with no signs of dislike. It’s not clear if he developed that dissociative identity for the trauma of what he did or if he already had it. But yeah, that’s what I got from this episode. And that’s why at the end she got so gross and scared when she touch the sandwich!

This is so fascinating! Though it will be heavy, looking forward to the last episode.

You guys consistently knock it out of the park with your reactions. I was very excited for this one. Excellent insight from all of you! Thank you for talking about the hard stuff ❤️

Ye the type of pickle in a cheese and pickle sandwich is more of a relish, somewhat similar to a jam or chutney generally made with cucumber, vinegar, onion, sugar and spices. I'm not keen on it either😖

I think with Jaime this episode, he does express in little ways that he does understand that Katie is dead and he obviously knows he did it. The really scary part is that he doesn’t seem to understand why he is in trouble for it. Like he mentioned in episode 1, he says he “didn’t do anything wrong.”

Jamie is honestly terrifying in this episode. Not only when he is physically trying to show his dominance but just his way of thinking, especially for a 13 year old is really so scary. You guys really need to what the behind the scenes of all the episodes, so interesting from the making of but also the actors/film makers views

Holly

the difference between Jamie in this episode and the first, is interesting. i think it's because he's more comfortable in his shoes. The worst thing (in his own eyes) has already happened. He's already in prison/detention. Though he's still trying to protect his image, and defend his name. Also, the cheese and pickle thing. The sandwich part makes most non-UK reactors look grossed out. But "pickle" is what is called a type of relish in the UK. Not the gherkin you guys might be familiar with. I think we call that something else here. Personally, like Jamie, I'm not a fan of cheese and pickle either, but it's quite a popular sandwich in Britain.

They should react for all episodes behind the scenes it is just amazing how they did everything just amazing job overall

That moment really stuck with me too. The fact that he even considered sexually assaulting her and then saying that “he’s better” for not doing that was horrific.

React to the behind the scenes for this episode on YouTube so good

Great job discussing this episode y’all. Another thing this episode will always show me is that he didn’t kill Katie for “bullying” or else the guys who spit at him and bully him and his friends would’ve been the ones he stabbed. He killed Katie for rejecting him when he thought she was weak. That scene where he told the psychiatrist that he could’ve sexually assaulted Katie but he didn’t do that so that makes him a good person because most guys would’ve assaulted her before killing her was the final straw for the psychiatrist. What a gross thing to say. It makes sense why she couldn’t even touch the sandwich after dealing with him. Such a great episode and an even better reaction

This episode just breaks my heart. 2 young lives destroyed due to this new version of online grooming. Worst part is Jamie has the opportunity to get therapy and change his mindset, but Katie’s gone forever.

I feel bad for Jamie too because he’s a victim of the culture surrounding toxic masculinity as well, which leads to misogyny. Parents, but especially fathers: teach your sons how to respect the women in their lives, period. End of story. Women don’t owe men anything-you’re not entitled to our attention, affection or our bodies.
