I'm loving riding this ride again with you guys--it just gets better and better too. Fridays are my new day of the week to look forward to. Briliant revenge story and so satisfying to see unfold.

What I think is different about this one is that it draws on people's familiarity with revenge tropes. All the guesses you're making are still very rudimentary compared to what Moon Dongeun has planned...but that's exactly what showcases the skill of the storytelling here. Oak talked about Dongeun's dream, but make sure you pay attention to the exact wording of what's said. She doesn't say 'I want to BE you', she says to Park Yeonjin 'My dream IS you'...and there's a difference there. It's all in the subtleties 😉 As for a bit more context, gambling is illegal in South Korea. So any games with a small bet is still fine (e.g. 20,000₩ is about USD$15)...but raising the bet past a certain threshold would meet the definition of 'gambling'. It's like a metaphor for Dongeun's revenge where she's betting everything on winning against these bullies. I also like how the show gives us enough things left unsaid so we can still interpret scenes on our own. Personally, I don't think Dongeun gave the teacher's son an ultimatum to say she wouldn't post if he killed his father himself. Dongeun doesn't want anything to lead back to her in any way beyond a tenuous connection without proof. I think he negotiates this ending all on his own to beg her not to leak the info on his father's past actions and chooses to take things into his own hands. As for all the other moving pieces, Dongeun doesn't threaten or manipulate people into helping her. Once again, she doesn't get her hands dirty. She just gives them motive while knowing that's just enough to set things in motion. Dongeun's plans also play to her strengths because the bullies see her as inferior, weak and powerless on a societal level. They don't expect her to be able to pull off elaborate revenge. They get annoyed at her or the situations they find themselves in, but they're not yet scared of the power she wields...they barely even recognise the shift in power dynamic. You see a brief moment of panic in Yeonjin at the thought Dongeun might have killed their teacher, but that's the extent of it for now. As much as Yeonjin is angry about Dongeun being the new homeroom teacher, she's still of the mindset that she can just fix this one way or another. None of the bullies have ever had to face consequences or met with a problem that can't be resolved using money or the clout their families or relationships bring. I swear you're not ready for just how much of a wild ride this is! Enjoy!

I think the only thing better than re-watching the series is hearing your discussions because it's so fun to hear your thoughts and see how animated you guys get when discussing the episodes.
