Not weird 😁🤜🤛

Badd Medicine

Is it weird that, if I miss the "Badd Medicine is BACK" I will start the whole thing over again?

I love how they closed the loop on Roy's moment as a pundit, not wanting to comment on that young footballers first match because of how he was torn up when he entered the league. Great writing.

When this episode first dropped I saw a lot of people confused at the way Roy's hostility for Trent Crimm 'came out of nowhere', but he's actually had a grudge against Trent from the beginning of the show. We saw it in season one, when Trent wrote the featured article about Ted, and Roy specifically said that Trent had always been a prick. There's a specific subculture in British tabloid media and 'society news' focusing on Wives and Girlfriends (WAGs) of famous sportsmen. It's not exactly the same as the American tabloid fixation, but it still fixates on them as sex symbols and fashion icons instead of anything deeper. Keeley used to be one of them, but over the past two seasons we have seen her "break out". Like Shandy said, she's famous on her own merits now, and not 'just' another model who married an athlete. Ted has brought the hammer down before when he's had to. Not often, but enough to make it clear that he can tell when the situation calls for it. I love that in this sequence he doesn't "snap" at Roy, he's clearly in full self-control, so you can tell that's not 'lashing out' or 'blowing up'. He made the deliberate decision to talk straight since the situation called for it. That's the true coaching skill that people keep forgetting he has.

The closest comp for Zlatan, who Zava is based on, is basically a combination of Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco. At least his public persona is along those lines. Oak. everyone plays everyone else, once at home, once away. 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, most points wins the league. A relegation contender like Richmond usually need around 40 points to be safe, so them opening with a draw vs a top dog team is pretty big. Similarly, Chelsea dropping 2 points to a relegation candidate is a blunder.

Shandy ABSOLUTELY sucks. But she's funny. lol

It’s been a while since I watched this season, but I don’t think I liked Shandy. Oak has her pegged, methinks.

I just wanted to write this but Jeff you was faster 😆 Zlatan is the best my favorite Zlatan story was when Lebron James thoughtfully sent a copy of his jersey to Zlatan Ibramovic as a gift when Zlatan played at Los Angeles. Zlatan signed the jersey and sent it back to Lebron. 😆😆 You have to love him

The reactions to Keeley and Roy breaking up always cracks me up (Beard screaming, Ted fainting). Regarding Jamie laughing…Phil Dunster (Jamie) and Brett Goldstein (Roy) are very close and have said that they make each other crack up all the time when filming, so that was definitely him not trying to break character! 😂

So this was mentioned by another poster when y'all released the schedule for the week but in case you missed that, the actor who plays Zava is married to the actress who plays Miss Casey in Severance in real life. Also, Zava is based on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a real-life footballer who is... mercurial (EDIT: totally forgot Trent uses that same word to describe Zava), to say the least. When he signed with LA Galaxy, he took out a full page ad in the LA Times that simply said, "Dear Los Angeles, You're Welcome." (Again: this was a full page newspaper ad. He did not use large text. It was a colossal waste of money and paper.)
