2025-06-12 15:35:34 +0000 UTCFor me, I think Finding Dory was the perfect followup and doesn't need a third movie. I especially love the ending where Marlin and Dory are staring out at the ocean, and Marlin goes "It really is quite a view." From opening Finding Nemo with Marlin and Coral appreciating the ocean view, the events that followed, and all that Dory had gone through to lead her back to a new place she can call home (along with both her parents and found family), it truly was such a nice bookend to the series.

2025-06-12 01:53:57 +0000 UTCThis might be a hot take but this is one of the best sequels Disney and Pixar has made, it's right up there with Toy Story for me. I was very surprised when I first saw it and that just made me love it more because I wasn't expecting much from it. I know she's not the best person and is quite hated right now but I do have to give Ellen props, I really felt her inner struggle especially at the more emotional moments, the rest of the cast did a great job as well of course. They did such a good job of bringing you back to this world and you wouldn't have known it took 13 years for them to do it, you would have thought this came right after. It was also very smart that they focused on Dory because other then her memory loss we didn't get to know very much about her in the first film or if she was right about the things she would say, like her knowing to speak whale for instance. And I love that we got to learn the origins of things like that as well, such as where the keep swimming song came from, it actually makes this silly song have a lot more impact. I'm also so glad they treated Dory's memory loss as if it was a real disability as opposed to a running joke, of course they make some here but they handle it more respectfully to me, especially them showing how the parents were trying to help her through it at a young age. I always found it so sad when they show her mom breaking down and being scared for her because I think a lot of parents can relate to that fear of wondering if there child who might have a problem be okay, especially without them. The anxiety scene was handled perfectly as well, I loved how everything was sped up but Dory wasn't. Last, these new characters are some of the best they've done as well. Hank, Destiny, Bailey, Becky and all 3 of the seals were great additions, mostly Hank. It was so cool the way they had him move and camouflage. I absolutely love this one!

Finding dory is also good but I find it hard to watch but in a sort of good way like dory’s memory loss stresses me out but it also breaks my heart and it’s just so hard to sit through but it makes you feel for her and makes a good movie
