To now see that they're together.. would possibly make Ted question whether Dr. Jacob always had inappropriate feelings towards Michelle.

2025-06-18 00:28:57 +0000 UTCThe timeframe as described between the end of their therapy and Michelle dating Dr. Jacob IS unethical, but unintentionally so. The writers THOUGHT that one-and-a-half-years was long enough for it to be allowable, but they got the wrong information. I believe two years is the minimum gap, and there's supposed to be NO contact at all in that period. So they wanted it to be "borderline, but technically okay", but as-presented it is directly prohibited. The writers have admitted this was a mistake on their end. The song in the montage is "Prisencolinensinainciusol", which is a FASCINATING song by the Italian artist Adriano Celentano. It is complete gibberish, but it sounds enough like English that people often get confused and try to figure out what he's actually saying. To people who don't speak English, it is apparently indistinguishable from the real language. As is frequently the case, Jamie Tartt isn't wrong that Zava's messing up the existing community of their team. It might be motivated by his strong jealousy, and everybody else may be fine with it, but he's not wrong.

Probably the only one who instantly thought of lotr when Oak said Zava was late but after this popped in my head it made me laugh more than it probably should have and I just had to share it.

2025-06-17 20:22:12 +0000 UTCYea, they perhaps didn't divorce directly due to Jacob, but it was already sus that he did their therapy after being Michelle's therapist first, then he dates her after. He started in a place of negligence, all of the couples therapy was fruit off a poisoned tree, so Jacob isn't exonerated in his role.

2025-06-17 20:04:47 +0000 UTCTed says Michelle and Dr. Jacob didn't start dating until a year and a half after Ted and Michelle stopped seeing him as a counselor. The relationship is still, as Sassy says, borderline unethical, at least on Dr. Jacob's part, but Michelle didn't cheat on Ted and didn't divorce him because of cheating. if she had, that would be a much more boring story, and would undermine the brilliant sensitivities of the episode in which Michelle and Henry visited in season 1, in which we learn the reason for the split is more complex, and also something people don't talk about a lot - sometimes people just fall out of love, and there's nothing they can do about it. Neither Ted nor Michelle took any action that caused their marriage to dissolve.
