Ooooh I'm excited for you and I hope you end up loving it as much as the guys do (definitely stick around for their post-episode discussions - totally worth it!). This show rocketed into my top ten of all time fairly quickly when I watched it and I was overjoyed when the guys went for it!

2025-10-22 00:45:37 +0000 UTCOk I'm finally checking this out. I love the movie so I was hesitant to watch the show. I know people say it's a more faithful adaptation but I haven't read the books. I appreciated this first episode but I'm not crazy about it yet. I just had a déjà vu feeling the whole time because I've watched The Originals (The Vampire Diaries spin off) and it's also set in the Quarter so very similar vibes. Obviously this story (the novels) came way before The Originals and I think this show will probably have a higher artistic value but with the déjà vu I think it's gonna be hard for me to like the characters as much as the leads in The Originals. We'll see 😊

Also Fun Fact: Savage Garden got their name because they were fans of Anne Rice and Lestat which Lestat says in the books that the world is a Savage Garden.

I mean, if vampires exist, I ain't gonna ask them if they can walk into a church, but knowing humans are full of sins, churchs aren't that sacred (my personnal take, don't sue me). All episodes feel like a movie in itself! it doesn't feel like a tv show^^ Thanks for the reaction!
