I agree with Oak on what the show wanted to do with Jade but I'm with Mason on what they actually accomplished - the only Ted Lasso miss for me. If this was the first episode with Jade, I'd 100% understand the character. But she treated the "nobody" Nate with the same unkindness she treats the "somebody" Nate. My theory is that they liked the actress so brought her back and that's why she doesn't quite fit the character they wanted to turn her into.

Jade just doesnt care for fake people, but as soon as Nate opens up and is real, she accepts him, even tho she is a minor character, she is one of my favorite side characters.

2025-08-03 07:35:19 +0000 UTCAlways took Jade to be someone who can spot bull a mile away and who just isn’t impressed by what impresses most people. And yes, perhaps that makes her a bit of a jerk. Totally interpreted that whole scene the same way Oak did.
