Like Oak, I had no idea that this film was coming out until just before it was released. I saw my first ad for it only four days before the drop. So it completely knocked me sideways. At the same time is when I learned that Dan Trachtenberg was also making ANOTHER film coming out later this year. So it's a whole lot all at once. A tidbit that I didn't notice myself until I saw somebody else point it out: Despite giving the three protagonists a weapon from their "tribe" during the final battle, the actual weapons presented are not the specific tools that each one used to win their fight. Ursa fought with her special shields, but they gave her an axe. Kenji did use a katana during his fight, but he points out that what allowed him to win was his teamwork with his brother. Torres used a collection of technology and specialized tools, but they gave him a flintlock pistol he didn't even know how to use. Just like the way the predators always use invisibility and attack without even exposing themselves, it shows that they're hobbling their targets even from the beginning. They never challenge themselves with a Real Fight, they stack the odds in their own favor and pretend it was fair.
