Just because people have a different opinion (which you clearly don’t seem to like for whatever reason) doesn’t mean that theyre “juSt AmeRicAns wHo ExpEct a HapPy EndInG”. There are a lot of valid reasons why people don’t like it.

2025-07-08 10:06:19 +0000 UTCHonestly, number 11 doesn't deserve to find her daughter, she helped murder thousands of people over the 7 years she worked Squid Game, she's a TERRIBLE, irredeemable person. Let's be honest, the only reason people dislike it is because Gi-Hun died. Just like people not liking TLOU 2(game and show) because Joel died. It's also really just Americans who expect a happy ending who dont like it.

The whole point of him sacrificing himself for a new innocent life and him being the only person that would be willing to do that out of everybody who entered the final game is kind of the whole point. It's very true to his character. I'm sure he would have done it the first time around if it came down to it as well. But this time around of course he was going to sacrifice himself for a baby. He wouldn't be him if he didn't. He has already won and he understands more than anybody that winning doesn't fix anything. He didn't even touch his winnings for at least a year. He knows that life is more important than money. Most people in the games whether they are working for the game or players don't seem to understand that or feel that way. But that's a core value of who Gi-hun is. That's what drives him even if it's misguided sometimes. And even if he's been confronted with his values in many circumstances and has faltered, it's still the core of who he is and he went out on that. And anyone who just wants him to have won just for the sake of winning doesn't really understand the character or the meaning behind what happened. And I've quite a few people wishing Gi-hun would have done what everyone expected to the baby just so hecould win again. It's beyond messed up. I say this as someone who has Gi-hun as one of my favorite characters to ever exist in anything ever. Also making Front Man feel inferior because again Gi-hun faltered but he still didn't turn into the person that Front Man expected him to turn into. He gave him a knife and expected him to do exactly what he did in that situation and wanted justification to reassure himself that anybody even Gi-hun would do what he did in that situation. But he didn't and then in the end he sacrifice himself for someone else.
