I love this adaptation - It's much more faithful to the book than Pride and Prejudice was. For Pride and Prejudice, you should watch the BBC adaptation (it's a short series, 6 episodes of 45 mins each, I think- the one with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle.) It's far superior in every way.

so glad i finally watched this, it’s definitely my favorite reaction i’ve seen from you guys. side note to Oak: this movie came out when i was 19 and i was full-on smitten with Rickman as Colonel Brandon, as was every girl i knew, age difference be damned 😊

There are 6 potter actors actually! Fudge, fat lady and madam pomfrey you missed ⚡️

Cassandra

This was the absolute best. Loved how much you were into it

alan rickman also was not the best role for snape because he was way too old lol

Reading the commets and now knowing the age in the book, yes, it gives me the ick. On the other hand, I did like their relationship, in terms of what Marianne needed, and Brandon vas exactly it. It's weird because I don't agree with the book's ages but I believe by making the characters a bit older in the movie they made it respectable (I think I read early 20's with a man in his 30's? not sure). Anyways, and I agree with DD I don't think I'm okay with Elinor and Edward. I read another comment about how a man's decisions were very important back then but if he was not man enough or brave enough to tell her he was engaged and still made her believe there was a small chance of something? it's cruel and she deserved better than that.
