…I only just realised, Rebecca’s bf is the Flying Dutchman 🙃

Ted Lasso is a really special show. I hope y'all also check out Shrinking. Its another Apple show by Bill Lawrence, it is similar in giving whiplash from the emotional beats and the comedy. Best of all, it has Harrison Ford being Harrison Ford!

The main cast just wrapped filming in Kansas City, MO last week. Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, and Brendan Hunt (Ted, Rebecca, Keeley, and Beard) all joined Mumford & Sons on stage at Azura (Sandstone) Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, KS two weeks ago as they performed the Ted Lasso theme song live. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjDvKX3ARJE&list=RDTjDvKX3ARJE&start_radio=1 Filming just got underway in West London this week, and the showrunners have indicated they're shooting for sometime in Q2 next year to start releasing new episodes (Apple TV+ does weekly drops, not all at once), probably around June. Looks like most of the principal cast members are confirmed to return, but so far no word yet on whether or not Phil Dunster (Jamie) or Nick Mohammed (Nate) will be back in S4. Ted is gonna be coaching the AFC Richmond women's team in the new season. S4 happening was entirely contingent on Jason Sudeikis being on board, because he is Ted Lasso - he literally invented the character based on people he had grown up around. Co-creator Bill Lawrence indicated that he was up for it and Apple was up for it, but they needed to get Jason to sign off to make it official. I just discovered that the first public statement that there would be a fourth season came from Sudeikis himself, and the first people to find out were Travis and Jason Kelce - he dropped the news while doing their podcast back in March before Apple made the official announcement.

FYI season 4 is supposedly revolving around the new Richmond woman’s team. I believe Jason said in an interview season 3 was the end of that chapter of the show and season 4 will be partially a fresh start.

Y’all need to watch sound of music oh my goodness. I said this before under the princess diaries because omg julie Andrews is an icon. Sound of music meant so much to me growing up it was a huge part of my childhood and them singing that sing to say goodbye to Ted and beard made me cry

Yeah I know heard about Jason’s real life and once again it’s not a crime for two consenting adults to date so I don’t think it would’ve been illegal either way. Dr. Jacob was also their couple’s therapist. I also don’t think it was that recent based on Michelle and Ted’s own words. As long as she was no longer his client I don’t see the issue. I don’t even think it’s unethical. I just think Mason Quinn was being funny like he has been about Rupert because that could not get him in jail unless they didn’t consent.

It's not generally a crime to date a former client, assuming the therapist hasn't hasn't had a clinical relationship with the former client in several years. It gets more legally dicey if the client-patient relationship was more recent (ie a therapist who sleeps with a former client that they were still treating a month ago could face actual criminal charges in a number of states). But it is still considered very unethical, and depending on the circumstances, it can still result in a therapist losing their license to practice psychotherapy. There is some speculation that Sudeikis' real life very messy and very public breakup with his longterm partner Olivia Wilde (with whom he has two children) while the series was in production may have had an influence on the story arc of Michelle and Doctor Jacob's relationship.

S3 was never officially confirmed to be the last, but it was written in a way to give it a feeling of finality, and Jason Sudeikis indicated when he was asked whether or not the show was over after S3 concluded that he considered the story he wanted to tell to be complete, but he didn't completely dismiss the possibility of a fourth season. It did appear for awhile that the show really was over, but Apple never made a definitive statement on whether the S3 finale was the series finale. The show was so beloved and so successful that there was always interest for more Ted Lasso from a lot of the fans, but whether or not it would continue was left in limbo for awhile. I think the key to the fourth season getting the green light from Apple was getting Sudeikis fully on board - it's his show, and he created the character Ted Lasso, who was a composite of people from his own life growing up. You can't really have Ted Lasso the show without Ted Lasso the character. We do know some of the people who are definitely returning for S4 - Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift (Ted, Rebecca, Keeley, Roy, Beard, Higgins) are all confirmed to be returning, but there is no word yet on whether Phil Dunster, Nick Mohammed, or Toheeb Jimoh (Jamie, Nate, and Sam) will be coming back. There is a basic premise for the story they'll be telling, and it's going to focus principally on the newly created AFC Richmond women's club, and their head coach (take a wild guess). Filming is already underway in Kansas City and in London, and I'm guessing we'll be getting new episodes sometime in 2026. The final episode of S3 aired in May 2023, so I imagine there will probably be a few years time jump.

DTGstl314

It's not even illegal to date someone who is currently a client, but it is extremely unethical and would almost certainly result in the clinician having their license to practice revoked by the state. But nobody's going to jail if two consenting adults decide to enter a taboo relationship even though it's obviously extremely problematic.

DTGstl314

Dating someone after they’re no longer your client isn’t illegal. Might seem unethical to some but it’s far from illegal so no that man ain’t in jail 😂 Got me out here defending a man. Such a great season finale. So happy that my girl Rebecca got her happy ending. Seeing Keeley with her step daughter at the end was so cute. What a ride. Great reaction y’all. I might skip season 4 because my fave doesn’t seem to be retuning but we’ll see. Thanks for a great time

One of the first real breakthroughs in the relationship between Ted & Rebecca back in season one, was when Ted also realized just how big of a piece of shit Rupert is. Ted even told Rebecca that she may think she's the only one to see through his charming public facade, but she isn't. Here, we finally see that public image SHATTER. It's not just the people who know him who see him for what it is, it's EVERYONE. The fans, his employees, and the populace at large. I think that's the perfect capstone at the end of the series. Especially since Ted & Rebecca didn't have to do anything to expose Rupert, because they've both moved on and aren't fixated on him anymore. His downfall is all his own doing. I also think this was was a proper place to end the show, and I was content to call it (I even bought the series on DVD as a full series set). I'm a little hesitant about season four, but I'm cautiously optimistic. I'll wait to see it before passing judgement. Personally, I greatly hope Ted and Michelle DON'T get back together, regardless of whether or not she's still dating Dr. Jacob. I said this in a comment on an earlier episode, but they established that Michelle didn't leave Ted "for" Jacob. She left Ted all on her own. The took the time, they worked on it, but she eventually said that she just didn't love him anymore the way she did when they first got together. She obviously doesn't dislike him, and Ted has changed a lot from who he was at the beginning, but their marriage ended all on its own. They can still be friends, and they look like great co-parents, but I think their marriage is all in the past.

Guys, I never would’ve watched this show if you didn’t react to it. Thank you. THANK YOU for bringing this gem into my life. I will never be the same.

K

My level of optimism is very cautious. I think this was a perfect ending but I'll never say no to more Ted Lasso in my life. Since the new season is gonna be about Ted coaching a Richmond women's team, I really do hope they finally bring Shannon into the fold, though.

Jeff K

I am excited for Season 4. I’m optimistic!

Kaley

I will never not love the fact that Jamie's hat used to say "ICON" on it, but now, it's been subtly changed to "I, COG." Dude has some of the best character growth I've ever seen in a TV show.

Jeff K

They did say they’re double dropping! Idk where 3x11 is tho

Jenna Jaggers

On the one hand... where's 3x11? On the other... I am definitely NOT mad if this is, in fact, a double drop!
