This is the worst episode of the worst season of Stranger Things. Don’t get me wrong!! I am a HUGE fan of this show. Stranger Things season 2 is also a GREAT season. So that says a lot about how amazing season 3 and 4 actually are. It just gets better and better. But this episode is not their best.

2025-08-17 00:54:56 +0000 UTCNot going to lie, I skipped your reaction to this episode. I think the placement of this episode is really bad. I like how they give El an entire episode, but in a way, I think they gave her an entire episode for the wrong reason/substance.

It should have been earlier in the season, and only as shorter scenes integrated with other main character storylines.

2025-08-15 11:00:23 +0000 UTCWith the past being revealed in season 4 seeming so different from this, I don’t know how they can reconcile the differences of what supposedly happened at Hawkins Lab when 11 was little. This is the first time I noticed the TV screen ended with the number 8 right when 11 left her mom’s house to go find 8.

2025-08-14 21:27:58 +0000 UTCI have always liked this episode. El is out in the world having all of these 1st time experiences on her own. She FINALLY meets someone like herself. She doesn't feel so alone. She learns how to draw on her powers and she decides for herself where she needs to be and what is important to her. Also, I have to say this, back in the 80s more times than not that older woman on the bus would have looked out for El like she was her own family. Even back then it wasn't safe for a young girl to travel like that. Just by sitting there next to El might have prevented a bad situation. (of course not knowing El is a super hero). On to the next episode. Thank You for the triple drop!
