Sam the Irish playwright is actually supposed to be Samuel Beckett the famous Irish playwright . Beckett ended up in Paris in the 1940's and died there.... Great homage lol

I find the parallel with Louis telling Armand it's "okay" not to be there, and Lestat telling Louis it was "fine" to sleep around fascinating. Both repeating "okay" or "fine", but here Louis is genuinely trying to convince Armand that it's okay, whereas Lestat was trying to convince himself it was "fine", which of course it was anything but.

"And to this day, I haven't seen anyone notice it (Claudia reading Carnegie's book) in a reaction. " -- Oak pointed it out when she was holding the book up.

First of all, I'm going to slow down the video after your review so I can understand your language better. It's really funny, because it looks and sounds like three very drunk friends sitting at a bar, ranting about bad relationships.
Second, when I read the books, I always have Jacob's, Assad's, Sam's, Ben's, and Delainy's voices and performances in my head. Except for the first book, where I have parts of Kirsten Dunst and Tom Cruse in my head. But still, Jacob and Assad... weird...
So, I can't talk about Louis, Armand, and Lestat... But I'm really excited about your upcoming reaction to the last two episodes, so I have to write about something. Then let me talk about Louis, Claudia, and Madelene.
Claudia is such a sweet and wonderful woman. She's reading "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. She really wants to make it right with Madeleine. And to this day, I haven't seen anyone notice it in a reaction.
You're so right. Everyone lies, everyone manipulates everyone. Louis and Claudia are no exception. With Claudia and Madeleine's wish for their transformation, from Louis's perspective, he initially loses something. He loses his companion, his sister, his daughter. Moreover, if you look deeper, he is still not really able to lead his own independent life. He still defines himself through the people close to him. With Louis, it's always a matter of responsibility. He has always shirked responsibility for all the bad things he has done and all that has happened to him. Even if Claudia is no longer there, he would have to confront himself, his guilt, and his responsibility. He doesn't want that. The fact that he's supposed to transform Madeleine is the same. He not only has to deal with his own responsibilities, but also bears responsibilities for someone else. A stranger. And if you remember, there's "The Vampire Bond." That means they are connected emotionally forever. And if there's one thing Louis doesn't want, it's experiencing and dealing with feelings. Not his own, and certainly not anyone else's. He can't handle it. Experiencing the whole thing is a highly traumatic experience for Louis. That's why, after the transformation, he tries to vomit up Madeleine's blood and "bleed himself out." That's one of the many reasons why he generally doesn't want to drink any human blood. Armand said it in the big argument in the last episode, "I can feel their feelings," etc. The conversation between Louis and Claudia when Armand was with Madeleine is so sad for me. It's supposed to be something nice for Claudia, too. Finally a new beginning. Claudia is really struggling with Louis telling Armand she's a burden and that's why she asks him. And Louis just can't help but let his mother's side show and hurt her. Of course it's a "door opener" to Armand. But he's definitely using it to hurt her. Things like that are also gaslighting. But as Dreamstat said, "Show me the only way you know how to love." That's Louis's complicated, strange, shitty way of loving and showing it. During that scene I think to myself, "how could he do something like that to her," and at the same time I understand him completely. But he decided to go for "the grand gesture." I think he owed it to Claudia, too.
