2025-09-26 19:55:34 +0000 UTCThe writing in this movie is so good. Very tight. So many little hints woven in throughout that make it so rewatchable. Plus, the lines ("my ballet recital! 🤣). So good. Well executed by the actors, as well as the directing. The "deadpan" at times because of a family still slightly numb with grief. Mel Gibson is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to portraying grief. He has mastered the breaking moment--big or small. His work as Martin Riggs in Lethal Weapon is incredible.

2025-09-25 09:35:13 +0000 UTCI'm like Oak and I've watched this movie sooo many times. I can't believe I only just now caught that Ray's character is the town vet and that's why Mel's character said he'd call the doctor for Houdini and not a vet earlier in the movie.

Whenever people ask me what my favorite movie is, this is the one that I say. I find it simultaneously hilarious, heart-wrenching, and heartwarming. And there are few films that can pull that off. As a person of faith, I also find this to be one of the more tolerable and professionally executed films that explore those themes. "Did someone save me?" "Yeah Baby, I think Someone did," gives me chills every single time! Of course, we do quote the funnier lines in this movie a lot in my family. "There's a monster outside my room, can I have a glass of water?" "It's contaminated." "Is douchbag a curse?" "I was out of line with the whole female, Scandinavian Olympian thing." " Why can't they get girlfriends?" "This is exactly what the nerds want!" 😄
