I think with the reveal of Ciphers ability, the reason he's training Marie is so he can take over her with the full capacity of her powers. Especially as his word choice of 'miracles' is very interesting. Makes me think his purpose with Odessa/Marie has nothing to do with Homelander, but that's just how he's sold it to Vaught

I wonder if Cipher got his powers naturally and all of the V is based off his blood?

Vanessa

He basically pulled a Professor X in X-Men 2. Taking over a persons mind and body and making them into your puppet without the strings. 🤷‍♂️

So if Cipher has the ability to control/possess someone, but Marie didn't sense any Compound-V in him, could he be possessed by the guy in the chamber? I say this because at 11:49, Cate said that she can't read his mind. Now, this could be because her powers are still messed up from her head injury, or because Cate would not be able to read Cipher's mind since whoever is mind-controlling him (possibly the father who's in the chamber) would effectively block the attempt, much like a mental shield. I want to believe that his father is Thomas Godolkin. I'm also not sure when it comes to natural-born supes. Do they have Compound-V in their veins?

So Tired

Something in his "cheat day" shake? When he shook Cate off and almost blended her good hand? I thought the history was that Vought and Godolkin *had* worked together and by the time we witness the opening scene of this season, they've been working independently and the test compound that's not ready yet isn't a version of V but something else entirely working towards a similar goal - control of the deadliest weapon. So, it might be the shake during his only "me time", but I think it's either not V in his system, or his father and the other scientists already had a plan for combining their altered genetics into babies. I'm worried the accident gave Godolkin the meat puppet skill and that's actually him piloting his kid around, as we saw after Cate's near-death she was suddenly able to pop into the nurse's meat bag, do a lot of damage, and let Sam go find Emma, but made no attempt to clean up before Cipher (or anyone else) returned to check in on her.

My working theory is that Cipher probably found a way to hide the traces of Compound V in his blood
