Gordon Ramsay recently did one of those Wired Autocomplete Interviews and one of the questions was what he thinks of The Bear, and he said it's brilliant and it pretty much perfectly encapsulates what it's like working in a kitchen. And given Gordon's fiery personality in the kitchen, you could easily see how it could create monsters (Gordon is not one; by all accounts he's actually a very nice, generous human being, but like you said, it's absolutely the recipe for creating people who aren't as naturally empathetic).
