The boys of dorm 701 did many things together, including the typically banal task of cleaning their clothes. They were perfectly at ease being dressed down to their underwear, being no stranger to each other's nakedness, and were all well past the point of being embarrassed about choice of underwear or penis size (although Jack insisted he was still growing).

The laundry room was expansive and shared, and there was no rule against the co-mingling of genders, but groups of men and women tended to not congregate, picking more secluded aisles when there was a group already inhabiting the space. She greeted them warmly as she set down her laundry basket and began to throw her clothes into the wash.
