Hey Everyone!

Just a quick update! There are a few weeks left for lighting and compositing on all 900+ animated shots but everything is moving along on schedule.

Corinne (Art director), Ginette (film producer) and I have been working in the edit suite at Post Kopic with film editor Alain Baril. Here, we have set up what will be our main editing session for the project. We are checking some of the lit/composited shots and assembling them into this master session. We are also testing what type of additional lighting, tints and vignettes we can add to some of the shots in the post-production phase.

Meanwhile, I've been directing the final VFX (visual effects) and particle animation sequences in the film. Generally speaking, these VFX shots are among the most complex shots to put together and composite because many of them are wide shots on a massive digital set in space during some big action moments, so we saved them to the end because there are so many moving parts and the scale of the sets are very heavy on the rendering engine.

We plan to have a picture lock of (animated/lit/composited) film by end of June, at which point my focus will be shifting to finishing the music and sound design!
