French Attachments
A video on how deeply France is tied into West African economies which are deeply dependent upon France. From mining industries, troop deployments, coups, and currencies. From CΓ΄te D'ivoire, to Cameroon, to Central Africa.
Los Ladrones. The Myth of the Caudillo.
In the Venezuela video, which I am sure to make, I will be touching on the myth of the benevolent communist tyrant, to point out that "temporary communist tyranny" to smooth out social inequality only leaves behind enormous damage. And because I am doing this, I believe it is only right to tackle the other big popular myth of Latin American politics. The lie of the benevolent right-wing dictator who brings economic success. From Pinochet in Chile, to Videla in Argentina, to Stroessner in Paraguay, to the various crooked and thieving colonels and generals that ruled Brazil and Guatemala, but also far away from Latin America with Francisco Franco in Spain. I would like to make a video breaking with the myth of the "caudillo". The Right-wing strong man who brings economic stability. This myth is in particular popular amongst many conservatives in the U.S and Europe. And I would like to show just how much damage these people did to their own countries, not just in lives lost, but in the destruction of economic opportunities and leaving behind legacies of totalitarian government institutions.

Fair enough. Just look at Lebanon.

2020-10-08 14:59:41 +0000 UTCYeah dictatorship has its perks but almost nothing good comes from it.

2020-10-08 14:21:19 +0000 UTCI agree. There are people who look up to Rafael Trujillo of Dominican Republic π©π΄ π for nationalism even though his brand of nationalism resulted deaths of thousands as well from his racist policies.

2020-10-08 14:20:29 +0000 UTCIsn't it about French Colonialism?

2020-10-08 14:14:03 +0000 UTCI think a long detailed video on the Caudillo is something almost no one talks about, especially given their harmful legacy that no one seemingly wants to bring up. From every dictatorship from Mexico and Dominican Republic to Brazil and Nicaragua.

2020-10-08 14:13:00 +0000 UTCWill it be the case that, if these options prove popular enough, you do the winner first and the runner-up afterwards?

2020-10-08 12:32:33 +0000 UTCThe French Attachment video is definitely what I wish for. Françafrique is some of the most fascinating inter-state relationship. Though I would be also very happy if Caudillos are exposed too; these two happens to be my favorite two choices!

2020-10-08 04:43:03 +0000 UTCDamn both options are so good. Can we expect the other option after this one? x)
2020-10-08 00:59:33 +0000 UTCNot the news web, the political party in Spain
2020-10-07 21:50:42 +0000 UTCIs something that will be very welcoming specially to those vox braindead
2020-10-07 21:50:16 +0000 UTCSpanish fascism ruled for so long, yet little is discussed about El Caudillo, and even as a Spaniard myself the facts of his regime are blurry to me. Having Kraut's take on it would be immensely helpful.
2020-10-07 18:32:17 +0000 UTCI hope Los Ladrones wins. Im sick of people idolizing these horrible dictators. I have quite a few friends who need to see that video.

2020-10-07 17:05:09 +0000 UTCLatin America current Venezuela. The benevolent Dictator idea needs to be dissected and corrected for folks who are Stalinists and Maoists.

2020-10-07 16:53:12 +0000 UTCI wanted more exploration about Latin America
Anthony Jimenez Diaz
2020-10-07 16:21:38 +0000 UTCboth of these are excellent options. i hope that Los Ladrones wins tho
