Added 2022-01-08 15:11:13 +0000 UTCI was contacted by one of you who discovered my channel through one of the better and more informed react streamers, and he made a very compelling case for why I shouldn't do this. His case mainly revolved around the fact that doing this would unnecesserily harm some very good and well meaning creators. And I agree. He also made a good point about the fact that with this system, response videos would also automatically get claimed, and the revenue from those videos would go to me. That could be framed as very scummy and even as censorious.
Above all though, a good friend of mine reminded me of the fact that I made it the number 2 priority of my channel to never get involved in any youtube or twitch drama ever again (the number one priority is high quality in videos). This copyright system is prone to cause drama if I do it. There is almost no way whatsoever of avoiding it. And that means I am going to stay clear of it.
I am going to shelve this system. Should I ever be subjected to a baradge of low quality and parasitic "react" content again, I will bring it up to you again and ask if I should maybe use it now.
Until then, this is shelved. It is an option, but because it is such a radical and extreme option, it is best to use it only in an extreme situation.

2022-01-08 19:01:22 +0000 UTCI agree with this decision. However, I'll reiterate my point that you can take a more "targeted" approach via DMCA takedown notice for egregious behavior. I have my issues with it (they're related to my issues with copyright in general XD) but for the sandwich-eaters I think it's an appropriate response.
