About the Sponsorship
Added 2022-03-21 16:42:13 +0000 UTCSome of You have asked why I took a sponsorship for the quick video I am making on Ukraine. It's because it isn't really an opinion piece anymore. At löeast, I would say so. I put extra effort into being objective and neutral, to try and present all sides of this conversation. And also, I try to encourage conversation ammong the audience.
Do you diosagree?

I don’t care, it’s your standard to not take sponsorships for opinion pieces, and if it meets your standards of not being one, go ahead!

2022-03-22 15:31:53 +0000 UTCBest of luck with this video it's going to be quite a challenge. I don't see the problem with sponsorship. Nothing can possibly be worse than the main stream media that would like us to believe that Russia would set out to deliberately blow up nuclear reactors in Ukraine. The other thing they would like is to believe is that if Putin goes he'd be replaced with a liberal democracy. Is that a likely outcome with the Chinese communist party on standby and the history ??.
2022-03-22 09:15:20 +0000 UTCDo news agencies who run ads on the coverage “profit of the situation” (if we ignore that they are bought out) ? Most people would disagree. You are rendering a service and therefore have every right to monetize it. Most of your videos have a sense of sensitivity attached to it but it’s not an issue then why now consider it an issue!
2022-03-21 20:12:18 +0000 UTCI would say please ignore those who would accuse you of profiting on the tragedy of the situation. Traditional news networks also will run advertisements throughout all of their reporting, and they do so because at the end of the day, they need to make ends meet. You're not even directly beholden to advertisers running their content on your videos, Youtube is. So it isn't even as if you're threatened with losing some huge corporate patronage for reporting on something unfavorable to an advertiser, so you should have even less concern over allowing advertisements to run on your content compared to traditional media.
2022-03-21 19:02:58 +0000 UTCPersonally I would say its fine to add a sponsor to the video. However, considering the unbiased perspective (as I'm sure that's more useful here than a fan's opinion), the only issue I see arising from it is due to the sensitivity of the topic, and that some might try and argue you are profiteering off the moment/tragedy occurring. This is not a view I share towards the new video, but more a view I would anticipate anyone to encounter in placing promotional content or ad's on top of Active Conflict Discussions (thinking about the Applebee's meme that blew up here in the USA).
2022-03-21 18:30:28 +0000 UTCI appreciate the transparency and candor with which you treat your sponsorships. I think it's perfectly acceptable for this video to be sponsored.
2022-03-21 17:54:41 +0000 UTCBased on the amount of work you put into videos I think it is fine for you to get sponsors.
2022-03-21 16:56:16 +0000 UTCYa, who cares. I don't understand your opposition to monetizing opinion pieces to begin with.
