Ottoman delay

Hey everyone. There is going to be a little delay on the video about the Legacies of the Ottoman Empire.

The reason is simple. You may remember that in the Turkey series I used some really bad sources and made a lot of mistakes. I don't want to repeat those errors. So even though the script is finished and I am already drawing artwork, I am going to go through the script again, slowly and carefully, together with some friends of mine. I am hoping that this examination will ensure that there are few or even no mistakes in the video.

If you wish you can also read the script here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Q7EMZvGCxt3l8kp1kVJ2mc6kEQOgdMVegu0TP1AeuYM/edit?usp=sharing

I just overflew it, so perhaps I over read something, but the massacres of the Ottomans in the 19th century must be put into context: The Central Power was quite weak, so the massacres weren't exactly "planned", but rather local excesses of brutality by non-regular soldiers like the "Bashi Bouzouk" (In German they would be called "Freischärler" - I know you speak german, so I hope you understand, what I mean^^). What also should be considered is, that although Bulgaria got an own duke with Alexander Batenberg after the Russo-Turkish War of 1877/1878, Bulgaria was basically turned into a semi-colony of Russia. This is the reason why among many "Apostles of Freedom", like especially Zahary Stoyanov and Stefan Stambolov, Russophobia was not uncommon. But even before this other Revolutionaries like Georgi Rakovski and Christo Botev were against Russia, and thought, that Bulgaria needs to liberate itself, without Russian Help. If you want some more professional oppinion I would recommend Alexander Stoyanov, Historian who wrote some very good books about the Ottoman Rule in Bulgaria.

Can you perhaps point me to a good summary of the mistakes you made? I really liked that series and would like to correct my learnings from it.
