Chapter 159: Apparition Is So Simple

Under Amy's one-on-one instruction, George gained a much deeper understanding of Apparition.

Having a teacher compared to self-study makes a world of difference.

A teacher provides insights beyond textbooks and shares invaluable personal experiences. They can also adjust the pace of teaching based on the student's feedback.

As the sky darkened, Amy poured herself a glass of water to soothe her parched throat.

"I've covered a lot. Are you able to understand it all?"

"Yes, I understand. I'd like to try it. If I experience Splinching, please help heal me promptly."

George nodded as he drew his wand from his waist.

In truth, he had already grasped most of the theory behind Apparition through self-study.

The reason he hadn't tried it before was his fear of being Splinched without someone nearby to assist.

Now, with Amy's thorough explanations and her presence to handle any mishaps, George felt it was a good time to practice.

"So soon? You should know that even sixth-year students usually spend months studying the theory before attempting it. You've only studied for half a day—are you sure you've understood everything I taught?"

Amy stared at George, attempting to dissuade him.

"Learning spells, especially advanced ones, takes time and patience. Rushing won't help."

Her plan was to let George study the theory for two months before moving on to practical attempts. This way, even if he couldn't perform the spell due to a lack of magical power, she would still have taught him for two months—earning her fee fairly.

If he wanted to try now, she thought it wouldn't hurt; after all, if he failed, she could always say it was due to insufficient theoretical grounding.

"Don't worry. As long as you put in the effort to teach me, even if I don't succeed, you'll still get the full hundred Galleons."

George saw through Amy's hesitation and spoke generously.

He was well aware that a first-year student wouldn't normally have the magical power required to perform Apparition—not even Voldemort could have managed it at that age.

A wizard's magic grows with age, typically reaching its peak around adulthood.

But George was different. In addition to his wizarding bloodline's magic, he had the magic of his magical cat form and the meditative progress of his panda form, granting him magical reserves far surpassing those of an average adult wizard.

So, as long as he mastered the spell, he was confident he could perform it.

He didn't mind Amy's little schemes. As long as she taught earnestly and was ready to assist if he Splinched, a hundred Galleons was a trivial price to pay.

"You said it! Boys must keep their word, no take-backs!"

Hearing this, Amy broke into a radiant smile, standing up and waving her wand.

"Let's start practicing now. Try Apparating from this living room to your bedroom.

Remember the key points—visualize your target location clearly, believe you can get there, and don't doubt yourself."

Even though she doubted George could succeed, Amy maintained a professional attitude, meticulously instructing him on the essentials of Apparition.

George stood up from the sofa, took a deep breath, and closed his eyes. Following Amy's guidance, he raised his wand and recited the incantation:

"Apparate!"

As he spoke the incantation, a faint popping sound, like a car backfiring, rang in his ears.

His body felt as though it were being squeezed through a narrow rubber tube for about two seconds before being ejected.

Opening his eyes, he found himself in his bedroom.

"Success! So this is Apparition—it's actually quite simple!"

His first attempt at Apparition was smooth, without a hint of Splinching. It felt much easier than he had expected.

Reflecting on it, he realized why it might have been harder for others.

For most young wizards, the first challenge was vividly imagining their destination. Many lacked strong memory skills, making it hard to clearly visualize the target location.

George, however, possessed Level 3 psychic abilities, giving him an extraordinary advantage in this aspect. He could perfectly recall even the tiniest details of a location after a single glance—there was no need for deliberate memorization.

The second requirement, determination, was about unwavering confidence in one's success.

From his experience with many other spells, George knew that this principle applied universally. His extensive spellcasting experience gave him a natural edge here.

The last requirement, composure, was about staying calm and fearless.

Many young wizards feared Splinching or worse, death. Seeing classmates Splinch during practice could only heighten their anxiety.

But George had no such fear. Not only was he not a typical young wizard—he had faced life-and-death situations across multiple worlds—but also, any accident would only harm one of his avatars. The loss of a single body wasn't something that would shake him.

With all three criteria met, an abundance of magic, and a solid grasp of the theory, his first attempt at Apparition was a resounding success.

"Apparate!"

He cast the spell again, disappearing from the bedroom and reappearing on the living room sofa.

Amy, watching from the side, was utterly stunned. Her mouth hung open in disbelief.

A first-year wizard mastering Apparition after half a day? Impossible. Completely inconceivable. It defied everything she knew.

Even with extraordinary talent and learning ability, what about his magic reserves? A first-year wizard's magical core was only beginning to develop.

Could it be that George was born with magical reserves far exceeding his peers—enough to rival an average adult wizard?

"Just so you know, even if you've mastered Apparition early, the hundred Galleons are non-negotiable!"

Snapping out of her daze, Amy immediately clarified.

George's prodigious talent might be remarkable, but it had little to do with her. What mattered was ensuring she still received her remaining eighty Galleons.

"Relax. I've only scratched the surface. I'll still need your guidance.

Even if I master Apparition fully, you can teach me other spells.

The remaining eighty Galleons are yours, and if you teach well, I might even give you a bonus."

George responded nonchalantly.

What he sought wasn't merely the three-to-four-second Apparition he had achieved, but the kind of near-instantaneous Apparition Amy performed—fast enough for combat situations.

Thus, the lessons would continue.
