Chapter 222: The Fusion of Plasma Cannons and Railguns

In the office, Snape relayed Dumbledore's words to George.

"Both the Headmaster and I believe what you said, and we will fully support your magic learning and strength enhancement to better face the crisis twenty years from now."

"That's great! I've been hesitant to say anything before because I was afraid you wouldn't believe me. After all, these things are just so absurd that sometimes I don't even believe them myself," George said, his eyes lighting up. He then subtly hinted to Snape, "Everything is fine, but I have to practice the magic that the Old Man taught me every day, and also study the school's magic. Time always feels like it's not enough."

"Not enough time?" Snape waved his hand dismissively. "That's not a problem. I'll help you apply for a Time-Turner. That should solve your issue."

Snape didn't hesitate in his reply. Given George's talent, normally, by the time he reached his third year, Snape would have already helped him apply for a Time-Turner. But now, they were simply moving up the timeline by a year.

With the Time-Turner, George could free up more time to improve his strength while still attending classes as usual.

Originally, he had only twenty years to enhance his abilities. But with the Time-Turner, by using it to its maximum, it would essentially give him forty years' worth of time to improve. Dumbledore would likely agree with this.

"Time-Turner?" George pretended to be clueless, and Snape quickly explained.

From Snape's explanation, George now had a much clearer understanding of how the Time-Turner worked. The Time-Turner could reverse time by up to five hours, but once it was used, you couldn't immediately reverse time again. You had to wait until time returned to its original course.

For example, if George used the Time-Turner at 5:00 AM to go back to midnight, he couldn't immediately use it again to go back five hours further to 7:00 PM the previous day.

Additionally, after using the Time-Turner to go back from midnight to 5:00 AM, he couldn't use it again until time passed 5:00 AM. For instance, if it was 6:00 AM, the maximum he could go back was one hour, and if it was 7:00 AM, he could go back two hours. To reverse five hours, it would take until 10:00 AM.

According to the world's time laws, there could only be two versions of yourself at the same time, not three. So even with maximum usage, it could only double the time available.

However, these rules weren't universal laws of the world but rather the safest and most stable guidelines set by the Ministry of Magic's research on Time-Turners.

Of course, one could also ignore these rules. For instance, one might attempt to turn back twelve hours, or even continuously reverse time, creating multiple versions of oneself. With good luck, nothing might go wrong, but with bad luck, you might disappear entirely or cause harm to loved ones—just like the witch Eloise Mintumble.

George, with his infinite lifespan, wasn't afraid of suddenly aging five centuries, but he didn't want time disturbances to cause chaos or collapse the world.

So, until he had fully researched time magic, he would stick to the correct usage of the Time-Turner.

Having double the available time was already an incredible benefit for George. Outside of class, he could use more time to do other things, without being constrained by lessons.

As for sleep, his immortality meant that he didn't need as much rest as regular people. A couple of hours of sleep each day was enough to keep him in a normal state.

However, he couldn't go without sleep indefinitely. While not dying from lack of sleep, his mental state would suffer, affecting his learning.

On a normal day, after class, Snape found George again, handed him the Time-Turner, and gave him a second round of usage instructions, worried about George misusing the Time-Turner and causing problems with his life.

From that day onward, George entered a frenzied learning mode. He used the Time-Turner almost five times every day, pushing it to its limits.

Apart from normal class hours and time in the library, George spent most of his time in Dumbledore's office, learning magic that wasn't taught in class.

Since Dumbledore was often free, how could George pass up such a great opportunity?

As for magic skills, who in this world could match Dumbledore?

His magical abilities were improving rapidly, mastering spells he had already learned and starting to grasp spells he had yet to learn. Thanks to Dumbledore's research into ancient magic, George also learned some new ancient spells like the Mountain-moving Charm, the Storm Charm, and the Tornado Charm.

In the end, even Dumbledore was starting to struggle with George's overwhelming enthusiasm for learning. Although he didn't have to attend classes, Dumbledore still had his own responsibilities, and his age sometimes made it hard for him to keep up with George's relentless pace. After prolonged sessions of George asking questions, Dumbledore began to feel mentally exhausted.

Fortunately, George was understanding. After discussing things with Dumbledore, he adjusted his schedule, allocating some of his time to other professors like Snape and McGonagall. These professors had to teach, but they still had some free time.

While in Harry Potter world, he was diving into a crazed learning mode, George's panda avatar in the wizard apprentice world was also making new progress.

Previously, the panda had spent most of its time meditating to level up to 500 and achieve immortality. Recently, it had finally reached level 500, reducing meditation time and increasing time spent learning magic with Balthazar.

Today, it had finally mastered the strongest spell in the Merlin series: the Plasma Cannon spell.

Magicians in this world shared a common weakness—they were very vulnerable to electric shocks because electricity could cause their magic to lose control, rendering them unable to fight back. That's why most magicians preferred wearing insulated leather shoes and clothes.

George didn't have this concern. His magical power came from his wizard bloodline, and meditation was more about increasing his magical rank. His control over magic was far superior to the native wizards of this world.

Besides, he was now an electric shock user, capable of releasing two hundred million volts of electricity—how could he fear being shocked?

David defeated Morgana by using scientific instruments to create massive electric shocks that disrupted her magic. After that, he unleashed a plasma railgun attack, which was similar to an automatic machine gun.

Normally, even Balthazar could only fire one shot at a time, although it was much larger and more powerful than David's.

When George first learned the spell, he could only create one plasma orb, and it was about the size of an egg, similar to David's. But now, as a level-four user capable of using two hundred million volts, he wondered if he could combine the plasma cannon spell with his railgun to create an even more powerful attack.
