Chapter 241: Golden Legend - Iron Battle Armor

“Hey, friends, your savior, Iron Man, is here!”

At this moment, a dazzling golden humanoid battle suit streaked through the sky at nearly Mach 5. It executed a stylish, heroic landing, standing right in front of Steve and Logan.

“Flashy as ever, but just in time.”

Logan and Steve exchanged looks, speechless at Tony’s flamboyant entrance, but they couldn’t help but smile.

“Tony, we’ll draw their fire. You need to rush in and figure out a way to stop the helicarriers from taking off!”

Steve laid out the plan.

Now, with Tony joining, their team only had three people left. Against them were more than sixty Hydra robots, hundreds of Hydra soldiers, and several superpowered individuals with unknown abilities.

If they fought head-on, even if they somehow won by luck, the three helicarriers would already have launched.

The priority was stopping the helicarriers from taking off.

“Is it just the two of you? Where’s everyone else?”

Tony nodded and, for once, didn’t argue against Steve’s plan.

After their battle in Asgard, Tony’s relationship with Steve had significantly improved. He respected Steve’s character and his ability to strategize.

“They’ve all been captured, most likely,” Logan replied helplessly.

“Even George?” Tony’s face lit up with hope.

Steve shook his head. “George didn’t come. He stayed back at the school with Professor Charles.”

“What a pity. I was hoping if George got captured, I could swoop in to rescue him and show off my Golden Legend armor.”

Tony’s hopeful expression turned to disappointment in an instant.

Having always been the one rescued by George, he had finally upgraded his armor with Asgardian technology. The idea of rescuing George for once sounded thrilling.

“They’re coming!”

Before Tony could finish lamenting, the Hydra robots charged in.

“Time for you to taste this!”

Tony aimed the arc reactor on his chest at the approaching Hydra robots. Golden energy rings began to ripple outward, followed by a beam of golden energy as thick as an arm blasting forth.

The golden energy beam was so powerful it punched clean through the bodies of the Hydra robots.

But that wasn’t all. As Tony moved his upper body, the energy beam swept across, annihilating over half of the sixty Hydra robots in an instant.

Finally, Tony deactivated the golden energy cannon.

“That’s all I can do—it drains too much energy. You’ll have to handle the rest yourselves. I’m heading to shut down the helicarrier launch systems.”

Though the golden energy cannon was devastatingly powerful, it consumed an enormous amount of energy. Even with Tony’s upgraded arc reactor, that single attack had burned through half of his reserves.

“If I’d had this suit back in Queens, those Hammer drones would’ve been like paper tigers, not to mention Whiplash,” Tony thought.

The cannon’s overwhelming power shocked the enemy forces, buying Tony a chance to accelerate toward the building.

“Watch out for the superpowered ones!”

Steve and Logan called out as they launched themselves into the fray against the remaining Hydra robots and soldiers, preventing them from blocking Tony’s path.

“It’s kind of similar to my plasma electromagnetic cannon,” a voice mused.

High above Stark Tower, the invisible figure of George watched Tony below, stroking his chin thoughtfully.

George had arrived a little earlier but, seeing that the helicarriers hadn’t launched and Steve’s team wasn’t in immediate danger, he chose not to act yet.

Bruce Banner had accidentally been teleported elsewhere but wasn’t in any life-threatening danger—he just couldn’t return quickly.

For George, intervening too early would make the crisis seem less serious and diminish the Academy of Superpowers’ reputation. Waiting until the helicarriers launched and the global leaders started panicking would have a far greater impact.

Of course, if Steve’s team managed to handle it themselves, George would simply act as if he hadn’t been there.

Tony’s chest beam attack had caught his attention. Its design resembled his own plasma electromagnetic cannon, though with notable differences.

George’s plasma cannon was a fusion of magic and superpowers, while Tony’s beam was derived from Asgardian technology, mimicking the effects of the Bifrost.

In terms of sheer power, George’s cannon was far superior—it could slice a small mountain in half. If he unleashed it now, Stark Tower itself would be reduced to rubble.

Still, for Tony to achieve this level of power using only technology was an incredible feat.

“Yet another surprise... Who’d have thought this world’s Inhumans would ally themselves with Hydra?” George murmured.

Tony had reached the building’s entrance, only to be intercepted by two Inhumans working for Hydra: Gordon, the teleporting eyeless man, and Daisy, the Quake.

George recognized these two immediately.

He hadn’t expected the Inhumans of this world to serve under Hydra’s banner.

As Tony approached the building, Daisy, wearing special Hydra gauntlets, raised her hands and unleashed waves of vibrational energy toward him.

Daisy had grown up in the Afterlife and received extensive training in superpower control. After awakening her powers with the Terrigen Crystals, she quickly mastered them. With the added support of Hydra’s gauntlets, her abilities became even more precise.

The vibrational waves weren’t the usual shockwaves but a unique frequency that bypassed mechanical defenses, targeting Tony’s brain directly. While not lethal, they caused debilitating pain.

Sure enough, Tony was forced to halt his flight midair, clutching his head as he plummeted to the ground.

“Jarvis, activate the isolation system to block the vibrational waves,” Tony commanded urgently.

“At once, sir,” Jarvis responded.

The suit’s isolation system activated, shielding Tony from the waves entirely.

But just as Tony regained his footing, Gordon appeared behind him, aiming to replicate his earlier trick of teleporting Bruce Banner away.

Pierce’s orders were clear: stall for time until the helicarriers launched. By teleporting the heroes to distant corners of the world, they would ensure the mission’s success.

Moments earlier, Gordon had teleported the Hulk to the Great Wall of China.

Steve and Logan had grown wary, preventing him from getting close. But now, with Tony briefly incapacitated, Gordon saw the perfect opportunity.
