Fishing bait/nets out for testing

At the point of the game where I have the funds to buy different baits, I feel that crafting is far superior to a money-maker for me and I have little to no desire to fish. Part of it is the mechanism and stress of streaks, but I really only fish when I run out of other things to do, always hoping for RS. After I find those I may never fish again. Problem/solution combo? Fishing competitions and stats on caught fish (weight, length, etc?) this may entice those who don’t seem to want to cast their lines.

I still have somewhat mixed feelings on nets, assuming the intention is a cast net, where you are basically throwing it out over a body of water and hauling in what you caught immediately to function similar to lemonade makes sense. I don’t think giving it multiple uses would make sense. Though if you were to say give it a cool down of like an hour and x amount of uses. That could also feel rewarding. I think it might feel more substantial/satisfying if it were something like a 1-5 hour version of the fishing charter, available through crafting. Maybe 2 hour by default, 4-5 hour with a perk. I just want to ‘want’ to make nets. Granted 10 fish at once is cool, the work to craft one is still fairly cumbersome compared to just manually catching 10 fish..
