Finally got one which I’m happy will let me test.

Your work here is very cool, I'm still a long way off being up to this part, but what I have printed so far has worked well beyond failings in the printer its self. With a bit of luck I won't have the same printer problems with the purchase of a better machine as of today.

It does, the jack screws are printable. I’m not adding guide rods at the moment or anchoring on the rings. Initially it will be as simple as possible however both guide rods and anchoring are options once the whole thing is built and tested. The print so far is extremely robust so it’s looking like they’re not needed however I’ve designed it so they I can mod if needed later. It’s a big design with lots to consider so we’ll see how it develops. Version 1 I did around 12-18 months ago was much lighter but did need more stability, this one feels much better so far.

A picture you posted of the lift mech, somewhere, does that have both left and right hand jack screws? Are the jack screws 3d printable? Would it pay to add linear bearings and guide rods anchored to the base ring and further up in ring2 or ring3 to give it more stability? similar to whats used in 3d printers!

Michael, a question that has nothing to do with this element specifically....can you please point me to the Patreon only content? I appear to have lost that information.

Looking good! Would it be worth adding some notes on attaching the rings to the dome?
