Charge per video or per month?

I'm considering to switch from charging per video to per month, but I'm really on the fence about this, so I'd be interested how you feel about it.

I'm generally pretty happy with "per video" because charging you only when I've actually released a video seems like a fair deal to me. However, there are some reasons why "per month" might be better:

So, that's the situation. Your input would be highly appreciated.

I agree that per-month allows for more types of projects, and that sounds really exciting! So that's my vote!

I'll join.everyone else here. I prefer paying per month because it allows me to know just how much I'll pay and when - I still remember university and budgeting down to the pound (that feels like forever ago!), it's more of a peace of mind thing now. This second point, however, I consider more important. I don't see myself as paying for your videos. Much like you said, different videos require different levels of investment and charging differently for small or big videos isn't something that Patreon allows (regardless of whether or not that'd even be a good thing). I like to think that I'm paying you for the work you put into the channel. The effort behind videos may vary, but procrastination aside a month's work is a month's work, whether it's two three minute videos or a single five minute one, etcetera.

Thanks for the offer, but subtitles unfortunately can't be added by the community any longer, so one needs to have direct acces to the video to change them. Will have to do them on my own from now on.

I would prefer per month, and if you want I can do the English subtitles for you.

I can afford a dollar per month, so I let it up to the rest of the patreons

Monthly also gives you a reliable income (as reliable as Patreon can be)

I voted in favor of a monthly fee mainly because I think it gives you, as a creator, more flexibility. And that can only amount to better output. I am however fine with both methods.

I massively prefer per month. I know exactly when I have to pay, and it's a no frills and no surprises experience.
