Script Journey: 18+

Hiya, Peeps!
So, the next video is taken a *smidge* longer than expected - as you might have noticed - but to sweeten the waiting time, I've compiled a number of screenshots of my script for the 18+ video from start to finish. You can see my whole script writing process in action in these few screenshots. Not that my process is the only or best way to do things, but I've found it to be quite practical, so if any of you are interested in that sort of thing, here you go:

16.11.: I collect very simple questions about a topic that show me some paths forward that I might find interesting. At this point, pretty much everything is still up in the air. Will I take one of the paths provided, will I combine multiple, or will I scrap the whole topic?

18.11.: The direction gets clearer. I've decided on a path to take and written an intro. My notes in red still contain lots and lots of things I might want to include in the video.

19.11.: I've completely rewritten the intro and crossed over to a completely different path. I'm starting to weave my most important notes into mini-chapters within the video that I can then mix and match within the narrative.

23.11.: I've created a basic first draft of the script. The structure is mostly in place and I know where the narrative starts and where it's going. Now it's time for rewriting, rewriting, rewriting. I want to be as economical as possible with the audience's time, so most of this is cutting stuff and reformulating my sentences.

29.11.: Yet more rewriting. Some skits have already developed within the narrative, but there's still a few points I haven't quite gotten my head around, so will add in later. I'm also starting to think about title and thumbnail more seriously now, so I'm cutting some possible titles to make it easier to pick or think of new ones.

29.11. (afternoon).: Yellow text creeps into the script. It shows remarks about illustrations to be used within certain passages of the narrative. Every sentence is linked in my head to one or more illustrations.

2.12. The illustrations notes are mostly done, so it's time for more revising and rewriting, making it all shine a bit more. Then it's off to illustrating, where the script will be amended from time to time to better serve the illustrations I'm able to create in a sensible amount of time. There's also purple text, which is used for auditive cues I have to put into the edit later on.

15.12. The script is done. Time for checking all details of the video, editing stuff that doesn't work, and preparing everything for release.
