Good video. Alternative conspiracy theory -- it was the real-live in-person drug gangs who helped take down the Silk Road because it was cutting too much into their own profits and also their territory. There was a story I've read (I think in Gladwell's _Freakonomics_?) about an economics undergraduate who was taken hostage by a drug gang while doing some research about inner-city something-or-other. After a few hours of being held hostage, he got along well enough with the head of that particular gang that later the economics student was allowed to look at the books for the gang. The result of his research was that particular drug gang worked a lot like a multi-level marketing organization, everyone had a certain amount of dollars either they or the people under them had to bring in every day, and the targets were fairly ambitious. It was not an easy life cash-rich life at all, but a constant hustle to have enough money to send to the next group up the chain to meet their targets while still keeping enough to live on. I could easily see a large organization like that becoming quite upset about some drugs-by-mail-order internet start-up.
