Nahh the ‘grand reveal’ wasn’t a shocker to me, but it just fueled a certain confusion,, the fact that there’s no hard evidence on who killed who is exactly what makes you second guess what actually happened. Esp cuz jongu imagined jumping/killing other people throughout the series. So i think its purpose of making you wonder what parts of jongus pov are actually true is well achieved. In return there’s no answer to the scene you asked about and instead it’s left up to your own interpretation🤓 is it jongus doing? Is it? There’s a lot of conspiracy theories online about this ending, so if you’re interested u can read those

Btw yes, the goal was to moake Jong-u unleash his inner monster, like he did with the previous dude, he saw in their eyes that they were "like him". In the original script the body of the dentist was not found and wanted to keep the ending open to question if he is really dead, then changed it on hinting to the fact that Jong-u became what Mun-Jo wanted and that's why the polce officer sees him in the elevator. Something that maybe you missed about the gooner's death is that the investigator said that it was messy and the killer was hitting somebody that was already dead. So it's possible that Jong-u just finished Um's job or just imaginated that the gooner was still alive. Family Matters (with Bae Doona) is also pretty cool. The Silent Sea, if you like some sci-fi on the moon
