If Anakin joins the Reformist Faction (I assume Padme is too), then that means he'll most likely be leading their army (Most likely the weakest of the big three). There's a lot of speculating on where this could all go, but all my childhood mind is conjuring up right now is a back to back team up with him and Grievous surrounded by storm troopers.

This is definitely an ending (and a fine one too), but it’s also definitely leaving things open should he wish to return. It not a balance every author can find, but Mirrthfully is pulling it off.

Every other depiction of Order 66 was that the clones acted immediately to arrest and/or execute, but in this case? You see Appo trying to give Anakin a way out with the question. Masterfully done narratively too by tying it back to their previous conversation. And such a change with Anakin's character from canon with all the butterflies! All three characters' war weariness really comes through when contrasted with the surreal discussion of the war's end. It does feel a bit weird to not have a quote at the beginning as a framing device, but I guess we've heard from all three major factions. I was maybe expecting a retirement speech from Grevious as the "fourth" faction and to match the theme of old soldiers dealing with the war's end... But I'm not quite sure that would be a fitting end for Grevious either.

I love Dooku's acolytes when they get a little more depth than just wannabe edgelords. Typo/oversight bothering. "Anakin need not be a Jedi to sense Appo’s lips draw into a thin line behind his helmet. The Clone ~Command~ slowly lowered his hand" Should be The Clone Command-er-. "Admiral Yularen’s expression didn’t change. This is a fact, the man seemed ~the~ urge, not some subjective opinion or best guess." "The man seemed -to- urge", i assume? Then a person perspective change on anakin. "Coruscant had never called him or the Open Circle Fleet back, marking their defense against the Tombmaker as of the utmost importance..- I wonder what’s Palpatine’s hand in all of this". It, for a single sentence, falls into Anakin as First Person, instead of the rest of the chapters' third person. (So, 'He wonders what Palpatine's hand...', i guess)

2025-03-16 19:50:50 +0000 UTCScout's horror was perfect, and a nice mirror to the usual forced action we get from most Padawan during 66. "See master get gunned down trying to buy time, run away" is nice, but "legitimately just terrified because you're a child and your allies are here to murder you" is saddeningly real. The simple compromise for PR of "oh, she's in custody until a military court can look at this. Remember laws?" Is wonderful because most clones will look insane for going "but I need to see the Jedi dead, not arrested!", making the fleet far more suspect of their clone detachments (if they don't have their own arbitrary mutinies from the need to go chase down a clone. The clones will cause reactors to blow to scuttle and destroy the ships they're on to kill one Jedi, they'll be nuts about this. There is a minor typo in the beginning. "If Scout was *THE* compare it to the battlefields of Operation Trident" should probably be "was *to* compare"

2025-03-16 19:33:00 +0000 UTCI was going to comment (complain) on a whole epilogue, a penultimate one at that being dedicated solely to Scout, but this assauges my concerns. A bit. Because this means that 100 is gonna be loaded, based on the threads still loose. We still don't have Obiwan's POV, I remember Mina's POV being promised some time back, and we haven't got a POV of Rain nor Palpy himself yet. I dunno which ones you feel will be important enough to include in the final, but that's your prerogative as the author. I will say that it's been a fantastic ride.

This week had been spent doing medical and physical tests for my upcoming enlistment, as well as upgrading my setup. Thus I was only able to write this weekend. Not to mention this one POV ended up being 6k words alone, much longer than I had intended. I considered delaying the release by a day, as I had last week, but ultimately thought two delayed chapters in a row would be lame as hell, so here it is. Worry not, this post will be updated with the second half in a day or two, and you will receive a notification/email when that occurs. The final chapter C100 will still arrive as scheduled (or not) next week. My apologies.
